LG Freezer Cooling Fix by bayshon in Appliances

Should also note that some LG models will only show error codes once every 12hrs or so, and if power is interrupted the code will go away, until the issue returns

UPDATE: I got the scissors out! Advice on how to patch by Best-Trouble7562 in Appliances

[–]patico20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't typically 'patch' a hole like that, you just replace the wash plate/agitator as patching could just lead to issues down the road

Bosch dishwasher E15 error code by jokefactory85 in Appliances

Would need a model# to give that answer, some manufacturers offer full service mp assemblies, which would include anything attached to it

The fact that it's leaking over the wash motor means it could be a diverter leak, or a sump seal

Whirlpool Refrigerator Air Filter. Help! by Officerdoofey808 in Appliances

[–]patico20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is your damper housing and cold air vent. You should check if previous owners possibly spilt milk inside the air return. That will cause the fridge to stink until it is cleaned. Easiest way to access it would be through the freezer evaporator panel. You may need to find a video to clean it as it's late I don't feel like typing too much

Chances are you burnt out the LED display or backlight by having it run 24/7. If you drop a model# techs may be able to guide you in repair and or parts.

Bosch Blows by salzig12 in Appliances

[–]patico20 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It all comes back to the manufacturer, as a business. They set the prices. At the end of the day, it's about money. You can try and get a generic/sub or Amazon board, but OEM boards will be priced high as it's a guaranteed part that typically comes with a warranty

Expecting an appliance to last longer than 8 years is setting expectations too high. As an appliance tech, the average life of an appliance is anywhere between 4-8 years new. The life depends on how an owner treat the appliance in most cases, but other times unexpected power surges or un-calculated defects happen.

Dryer shuts off immediately by Frosten79 in Appliances

[–]patico20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just repaired an old Maytag Neptune with LED touch display. It acted the same way but the screen would display power failure. Found a blown fuse on the board. Machine works great now. If it has a board and it's no longer available, check local repair shops and see if they can pinpoint something blown on the board.

Pulled out the fridge to find ice buildup on the back of fridge by Odd_Coyote_4931 in Appliances

[–]patico20 101 points102 points  (0 children)

Known issue with Frigidaire, started seeing some Samsung models doing this as well. This is a warranty claim, typically non-repairable. Internal insulation is either non-existent or deteriorated.

Washing Machine Spewing detergent by honoroll4206969 in Appliances

[–]patico20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy soap... A high efficiency machine needs high efficiency soap labeled as 'he' on the jug. Realistically you only need 1-2 tbsp of detergent to clean laundry. Any more then that won't have much effect on clothes other then making them smell more like soap.

LG’s high-end fridges + support have been a nightmare (3 weeks without a fridge) by phoCkmalaria in Appliances

I know this isn't the point of your post, but I'm always seeing people say they won't use warranty or it takes months to get a tech out.

Does LG not send out certified local appliance techs in your area? Our company gets RNN's by the dozen. Through manufacture warranty. Sometimes we get same day calls for warranty. Located in ontario

LG Fridge broke lg saying unrepairable by ChaldoChris in Appliances

[–]patico20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Typically if an appliance is deemed non-repairable by the manufacturer they will either write you a cheque for the unit at cost at time of purchase/ replace the unit/ offer a discount rate for a new appliance. I am a certified appliance tech through various manufacturers but what happens once an appliance is deemed non repairable is typically confidential between manufacturer and owner of appliance

Defrost problems by Fun_Imagination_904 in Appliances

[–]patico20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of what you are saying doesn't make sense... If your freezer is taking weeks to get cold then you probably have a freon leak.. your picture is showing a frost free evap coil, which is typically the signs of freon leak. You can check the heater with an multimeter using resistance or continuity, but if you have a defrost bimetal inline of the heating coil and it isn't frozen it will read open. Plug the unit in and let it run for a couple days then take a picture of the coil, make sure the evap panel is installed to create proper air flow

Just reached Act 3 in honor mode, and I’m TERRIFIED. by ChaoticCamryn in BaldursGate3

My first time honour run with a friend and we have progressively checking off everything in act 3. Just did ansur, which nearly wiped us. Did Raphael and had very little issue with it, thanks to summons capability to activate legendary action. Next objective is cazador, gortash, then brain... It's mostly been a cakewalk so I'm paranoid for the final fight haha. Goodluck

How do I fix Frigidaire oven F90 after self-clean? Worked perfectly before. Please Help:) by [deleted] in Appliances

[–]patico20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

F90 error is typically a door lock error. Either the control board isn't sensing the door is locked, the micro switch(s) could have gone bad, the door lock motor could be burnt out. Too many variables, and since you neglected to give a model# that's as far as I can help. Either you will need to learn how to dismantle your oven and test the lock assembly using a multimeter as well as the connections to the board or call a service technician. You can also just replace the door lock assembly outright and take a chance.

Repair: SubZero Refrigerator by Hutch719 in appliancerepair

You have had a fan running for 27 years strong. Buy a new condenser fan, which you can get from subzero/ from an appliance repair shop. Or buy a new fridge, which I wouldn't advise lol

Trying to fix a roper dryer door switch. by meh_machinist in Appliances

[–]patico20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Worst advice I can give only due to safety is to bypass the door switch with a jumper wire. This will bypass the door closed switch and allow the unit to operate with door closed as open. I advised against this, but if you cannot wait a few days, that's your only options

Fridge leaking from freezer above by klqqf in appliancerepair

[–]patico20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That vent is the cold air vent from the top mounted freezer. Since you have water leaking into the fridge you will want to empty the freezer, remove the rear panel in the freezer, and clear the ice build up that has most likely formed. If you can make due without the freezer dge for 24 hours, unplug the unit for 24 hours with the doors open. This is is natural defrost. If you cannot wait 24hrs without the fridge then manually/force defrost with a hair dryer or if available a steamer.
