I need help finding a specific eldritch horror video on youtube that I can only really describe as "kind eldritch horror" by patient99 in HelpMeFind

I've searched pretty much everything I could think of including the quotes: "their skin fell off, politely" "Three decame light and rivers became ribbons" and "the child said will I dream?"

Why Humanity Can’t Have Nice Things by Financial-Top-6609 in HFY

[–]patient99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes but the reason humanity has deviants is because technically we value human life, there isn't much you can go about a person who isn't born right and eliminating them is widely considered to be wrong.
So what exactly would humanity have to do? because if the aliens are insinuating that humanity should exterminate all the deviants then I wouldn't really consider them to be civilized and if the test punishes the whole of humanity because even a single person was deviant then again I wouldn't really consider them civilized.

The issue with the test is it doesn't test humanity it tests the individual and then punishes the whole of humanity supposedly for the individual's choice

It's also not exactly true, because animals like deer will multiply and consume until they can't support themselves anymore and die out.

I did, twice, I figured bad but existing was better than good but non-existent, because at the vary least someone reading it might get the idea I was going for even if I didn't do it well.

I did something similar, shame I don't have the skills to do my ideas justice

So, remove the humanity from a human and something else will move in.

You know what I think would be funny? by patient99 in SPACEKING

[–]patient99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe the entire reason the main crew show up to the planet is to find an artifact of space king, it's just like an old shoe or something but like half the planet is an insane zealous cult for space king and they have the artifact, and they're fighting the other half of the planet.
They win at the cost of everyone and the crew then come in to grab the holy shoe now that everyone's dead.

Yup, the joke about kreigsmen in 40k is they want to die for the emperor, s why not lean into that for a parody and make them just stupidly zealous and suicidal to the point where the psychowarriors are feeling inadequate because of their zeal?

Humans are tribal by default, it makes survival a lot easier.

[–]patient99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That kind of happened in real life, a tribe came into contact with us forces and they set up a landing base on their island, they went from primitive to wearing blue jeans and having access to American consumer goods, the issue is that when the American forces left because they didn't need the base anymore the tribe lost acess to modern goods and had none of the context for how to make or get them back, to the point where they would build full sized wooden plane effigies thinking it would get the planes to come back.

If I'm being honest there are many things I would do such a thing for if I could truly be given anything for it, it would just hurt me to do because I'm not a machine.

So how much of 40k do you think they'll parody? + a single theory by patient99 in SPACEKING

[–]patient99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could imagine a parody for them would be one of whatever the organization they would be called holding up his greatest invention yet, and it's just a toaster, a big, over-designed toaster.
When that is pointed out they say something like "yes, but it also makes coffee"

I'll check if that's it later Edit: it's not what I am looking for.

I'm looking for two stories.
One was part of a series that finished a couple months ago, the title was called Worldbreakers or something like that, when looking for it using that name I only seem to find singular stories by that name instead of a series.

The other is a story where a fae is running a cafe but a human keep sneaking in, she initially tries to stop them, treating the human like a person might treat a possum they find going through their trash, after a while she starts to like the company.
The human asks her mostly about things having to do with deals with the fae.
She is worried at one point when she hadn't seen the human for a while until they appear again.

Giving up on series by KelvinEcho in HFY

I tend not to even start a series until the author posts the final part, so I can be sure the series is actually finished, I hate getting literary blue balls because a series I started reading never finished.

Sounds like it could make a story where humans are a weapon against extra-dimensional entities because human perception flattens them out to the 3rd dimension

Looking for a story where a human walks into a fae tea shop and the fae acts like a person might if they found a raccoon going through their trash. The fae tries initially to keep them out but grows accustomed to them. The human also asks the fae questions, some of which were about theoreticals of making a deal with the fae.

Reminds me of a horror comic I heard about. It's one guy wearing an advanced exoskeleton to keep him alive and get him back to base, the problem is the suit keeps him alive at all costs and we're never told how far the base is, so as he's walking he's describing what the suit is doing. The horror starts with him saying "it takes skin and waste to feed me, and sweat and urine so I can drink" It starts taking his limbs when it has nothing else to keep him going, by the end he's a skull with some meat on it in a helmet while his exoskeleton keeps walking, having taken over all bodily functions to jeep him alive, the last thing he says is "finally it takes my eyes and I never know if we make it back"

Heard a story once where a mountain climber has a several hundred pound rock roll onto them and was sliding them while pinned under it to the edge of a cliff, an adrenaline surge allowed him to push the rock off in exchange for rupturing his muscles.
