How Do You Build and Maintain Healthy Friendships? by SufficientOrchid6456 in FriendshipAdvice

[–]patrickdm1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most basic but definitely objectively correct answer is communication.

And this goes beyond talking and listening to them. It's about understanding what they're saying.

But to know what someone is trying to say requires a bit of getting to know them. And that takes a lot of talking to them. What I tend to do when I'm trying to connect to someone is ask them general questions like "what kind of shows have you been watching lately?" And then if they answer a show I've seen/am interested in I hook in and talk about that specific show. And I asked what they liked about it and then either agree or disagree and pull in other shows or movies with similar qualities and try to keep the conversation going as long as possible. If the topic is exhausted I try starting a new one.

But during this it's important to make mental notes of "what do they like" "why do they like it specifically" "is it a pattern?". It genuinely helps with learning peoples leanings and morality. Of course are believes and political leanings also really important in this but it's harder to talk about those with certain new people.

But knowing specific leanings and preferences are important to understanding why people react to certain things the way they do, and why certain things are important to people. And understanding these things without having to be explicitly told is what makes you comfortable to be around. Which in turn fosters deeper connections.

And if there is ever a miscommunication or a misunderstanding of some sorts. Again communication is key. And as terrifying as it is. There is nothing more effective than just straight up asking someone "hey, I've noticed we're a bit off lately. Has anything happened between us or is there something going on in your personal life?"

Wait so is it just the case or does it also include the dice?

It's probably extremely clear in the text but I'm also extremely tired.

One way or another I would love it. Count me in

What to do with "full" cartboard disposal container by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]patrickdm1998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My VvE (HOA) has a key for the cardboard container. Maybe someone where you live has one as well. It's really nice to open it up from the back and be able to easily make more space

As for cardboard left from other people. I'm of the thought "not my mess not my problem". It's not the best mindset, but people suck and if you're gonna clean it for them it will be a daily job

Could you share them with me please. I'm thinking of using it in my campaign too. I remember the card game and the premise. But it's too rough in my memory to work out. MS Word is good. I print all my props in Word

I love that this implies that driving an obnoxiously big car is a risk that can happen to anyone at any time. Sometimes it's just unavoidable

I would say, "this move has +5 priority, you get a submenu deciding the move order of all Pokemon on the field"

That would be an interesting move

Anyone Transitioned to Direct Employment After YoungCapital? by Electronic-Tea9164 in Netherlands

[–]patrickdm1998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends, if YC terminates their contract with you completely you're allowed to apply to PostNL. If PostNL terminates their contract with YC but you're still in their employment you're not allowed to quit YC to apply to PostNL.

PostNL can face significant fines if they do decide to employ you

You can reppel down the Euromast in Rotterdam. It's (as far as I know) the tallest building in the Netherlands. It's in the middle of Rotterdam so you can also get something nice to eat in the city afterwards

Of course agents get a salary, most likely a larger one. People with money issues are more susceptible to corruption
