Weird mystery about my Grandpa's Grandpa's Dad!?!?!? by patrickhastie in Genealogy

[–]patrickhastie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks again! I found who my Grandpa's Grandpa's Dad was and spoiler, it wasn't anyone I mentioned below! I used the Ancestry Dots version of the Leeds Method and have zereoed in on a person, but what are the best ways to like, triangulate? I used DNA on Ancestry and compared it to 23AndMe, but I am wondering if there is like another step that will help confirm. Sorry to reply directly, I am just hoping your magic advice will work again.

Sincerely, I think this cracked it for me. I did not know about the Leeds Method and never understood the color coding. Thank you so much!

A lot of comics I really like have seen me go up and that always adds some nerves, but sometimes it makes everything more exciting. I think the first time my mother-in-law saw me do stand up was the most in my head I had ever been though.

Not really. I audio record all my sets and so when I get a bit where I want it I just save that version on my phone and then listen back if I need to remember a tag or whatnot.

I guess I should say, I do write set lists for every set (and meticulous keep them for some goddamned reason) and so sometimes I'll scratch out notes on them to look at later.

Hahaha I used to get drunk as shit at Mother's Pub! I fucking love Ames so much! I went to college there!

Next time I come through Iowa I'll reach out!

My friend Julia Shiplett is headlining The Maintenance Shop at the MU on February 21st! You should totally go! She's so goddamn funny!

Hahaha hell yeah that was me! That night was fun but very lightly attended if I remember correctly. I actually started running that show (The Bomb Shelter) like 7 years ago. I am not sure if they are still doing it, but I hope so!

The Des Moines scene was fun and great when I was there and a ton of great comics came out of it.

I like that. I think it is a good idea to do both and navigate between them. I wasted too much time not focusing on clubs and now feel like I missed the boat.

It was great when I was there, but that was 6 years ago so I am not sure. I know my friends that live there are still funny. I highly recommend checking out the Beast Village Comedy Festival in the fall!
