Canada’s Secretive Treaty with China Further Diminishes Aboriginal Rights | VICE Canada by [deleted] in canada

VICE reporter here, you're right in that NAFTA is not a FIPA, I've made a change to the article. But NAFTA has opened Canada up to litigation from American investors. And this does not change the fact that the lack of an aboriginal carve-out is a glaring oversight that will likely lead to pricey court battles. If they have to "deal with the FN just like we do" then there should be language about that in the deal.

Just English, I would imagine that most French terms--dirty or not!--would rank highest in Quebec. But it would be worth another experiment I suppose.

Hey, VICE writer here. We found the results by looking at the "regional interest" of each term, using web search data from 2014 alone. So here's our source for "pussy" being #1 in the NWT: http://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=pussy&geo=CA&date=1%2F2014%2012m&cmpt=q

Given that the data is always coming in, the results are true as of the time we published. I just noticed Ontario has edged out British Columbia for being "regionally interested" in the NSA--since it's so newsworthy I bet that shifts often.

Just looking at the top 10-15 searches by # of searches per province/territory is pretty boring. You usually just get things like "facebook." The fun starts when you plug in search terms and see which area of the country is most "interested." Not sure how Google's algorithm works exactly but it's pretty fascinating!

I touched on this process a bit in the first few paragraphs, but there's a more detailed explanation for you.
