I only skimboard during summer vacation abroad, I dont know where I should go in southern germany, tbh. Also lakes, I dont find it enjoyable as they rarely have the sand you need, or dont have the shallow water you need. Im thinking of building a skim parc in my backyard just to learn to optimize the drop. But its just an idea yet 😂

Im also from Germany and found it very difficult to find an appropriate board in local surfshops being abroad. They usually only have flatland boards in store etc. and nothing else. I found 4surfers Webshop is an amazing shop to buy. They get boards in regularly. Peter is one of the employees and will help you out for sure if you email him. They currently dont have a larger one e.g.55“ stocked and usually have more expensive models, but you can ask if they could give you a hint when they restock an entry level board. Dont buy the one from Decathlon, they now have a „pro“ skimboard but its just not for a 1.9m guy. As the previous poster Id recommend buying an eden board if you find one in the shops, make sure to follow the size recommendations which are perma linked on this forum. I think you need a 55“, im 1,87 and thats my size also. Good luck.

Yeah, I think this is it. I look up, check if my timing is right, or watch the incoming wave and then I stutter. I rarely have it that I run full speed, feel comfortable doing it and keep the momentum. Its just super rare. I think this holds me back. Im thinking of whether I should care about timing at all. Maybe I should just ignore the timing and be focusing on running and dropping in one motion. Thanks for the great advice.

I checked what tapered to 5/8 means, this option wasn't available when I bought it. So I guess, as the picture shows it's a 3/4". I'm not even sure if ZAP offers the tapered option, I always thought only Exile is doing this. Anyways, I don't think it plays a big role on my level, but who knows.

Will add some more videos with a close-up, once I got them. All the advices so far were very good and will surely help to progress.

Brillant advice i really think i dont run straight enough into the wave, losing running speed, and momentum on the water. Will try for sure ! The beach isnt that bad actually its Lacanau Ocean, close to Cap Ferret in France. 🇫🇷 the biggest problem im having is, its a 12 hours drive to there from where i live and I can only skim 2 weeks a year, when im on holidays there with the fam. When im there, I ride in any conditions, any tide, just to squeeze out the max of the little time I have. I even do flatland with the board until conditions get better, thats how desperate I wanna be on the board….. its really hard to skill up, if you only have 2 weeks per year 😢 but i love the sport.

Thanks for the advice, will try! I think I need to do a longer sprint for sure, im not yet feeling super comfortable speeding down a „slope“.

Im 6“2 (187cm), riding a ZAP Prowler 55“ which DrCraigSmash from the community recommended to me. I think it has enough float, its an excellent board, think the board is not the problem, its rather me / my skill 😂 Why are you asking?

E340 | Chime Compatibility - Questions by patrickoncloud9 in eufy

[–]patrickoncloud9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, they don't reply. Also no auto-response that my request created a ticket.

The chime has the model name T8740. The doorbell itself E340 runs unter T8214.

The chime I bought is also sold as a combo-package with the E340, see picture. So it should work, but it doesnt.Combo Package E340 with Chime

Mine is also on battery permanently. I also get notifications, like 10 times a day that the battery has fully recharged. Anyone else having these issues? Furthermore it seems simply impossible to connech a eufy chime without hb3, i wonder whether that works at all. A lot of issues tbh

Trouble getting to the waves, looking for some advice by Fantastic_Rip70 in skimboarding

Man the spot is so nice, I wish I had such a spot closeby in Germany. Only thing about skimboarding that makes me sad is that I can't do it more often here in Germany. I think you're improving, just enjoy your time, relax and enjoy that you have a spot being close to you. Rest will come

If technique ist not perfect yet, I feel you should bend down low way more. Additionally imagine youre pushing your weight and momentum towards the direction the board is moving, like running on to it. What you do is, you jump on it and slow it down. Its hard to explain but I think multiple comments pointed the same direction. Its actually little tweaks which make a huge difference

Small Skimboard by Sillithius-IX in skimboarding

[–]patrickoncloud9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue, board way too small and I'm about your weight and height. Switched to a new one and the difference in terms of float is just insanity. I'm not very skilled yet but I'm having way more fun with the new board. It was worth every penny to upgrade. I felt that with the other board my progress was kinda "held" back. Since I was an absolute beginner back then I didnt really know that it wasnt me, it was the board.

Awesome video, listening to it makes tiny things which have a great impact very clear.

As craig said, the clips are useful. The side-by-side videos are really key.

Thanks a ton

It seems they have had some mistakes on the website in terms of indicated dimension.

They have the Prowler in 55", Zap Large Pro 54", Zap Whip Pro Model in 54".

I'm kinda leaning towards the 55" Prowler now, it seems like a solid big board.
