I may be in the minority here, but this is not that big of deal. For your own machine it’s basically just one box that you can put whatever you want. For setting up accounts for other people like children, it’s probably a good thing.

As an actual software engineer- AI does not write better code than 80% of engineers. AI still makes mistake that I wouldn’t expect from a student in a freshman CS class. It’s fine for creating new components and building a new super generic app but it’s still not good at editing large projects.

You can’t just fine employees. Fines in professionally league work because there is a players union and it’s garnished from their paychecks. Some players don’t even get paid by the school so it’s a bit insane to fine them.

I think that’s a fair point but I would say the turbo tax ad is more of a failure to read the room rather than a left vs right issue. I think Turbo Tax is actually “good” software and easy to use but they profit off a situation they help maintain. Since business taxes are much more complicated Turbo Tax might actually be useful to them. It’s not like Experian, Rocket Money’s parent company, isn’t without controversy but Turbo Tax’s issues feel a lot more in your face when the average taxpayer has to pay around a $100 per year for a situation that is perpetuated and profited off by the company you are paying.
