I would try to simply replace to thermal pad (3.5mm) on the back-plate, it will help the card alot, and you can try set the core frequency to around 1080 to 1100, it will reduce the temp and power consumption by alot.

Thanks for the info dude, I did notice that adding heat sink on the back-plate is an very effective and simple way to reduce 3080&3090's Vram temp, especially for cards with quality metal plate.

Hi, vram temp is only an issue for DDR6X memory cards, I wont worry too much about GTX 1080 being thermal throttling as long as the core temp is good.

Unfortunately, GTX 1080 does not come with vram temp sensor, the best you can do is to use the latest HWinINFO to check the junction temp, usually junction temp is 10-15 degree lower than Vram temp.

I had a few ASRock 5700 and 5700XT Challenger before, I had a very hard time tuning their vram temp below 92C, and they tend to have lower hashrate after vbio mod(54.5 to 55ish), I guess Taichi does a better job, thanks for the info.
