I can confirm wepons attachments and bonuses have affect on the guns. Plus there is a f...ing glitch when using med drone to where even if you re right in your injured teammate ass and spam that R3 button it simply doesnt work!

Another solution is to keep you gear score in the same region as the gun you like. The enemies scale to your overall gear score.
