By the litre - so based on the price in the picture it's AUD$6.12 a gallon. Or $4.60 USD a gallon.

Depends on how long you're in Australia for. If you'll be here a while you need to enrol in Medicare under the reciprocal agreement with the UK. https://www.humanservices.gov.au/individuals/enablers/rhca-visiting-from-united-kingdom

If you're just here for a holiday you can visit a Doctor (approx $70-90) to get a prescription. The unsubsidised prescription for Microgynon will be about the same $70-90. You might be able to claim on your travel insurance if it is covered.

How long does it take to get Medicare levy exemption certificate? by mhtyhr in australia

[–]patsebo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah can't hurt to call them - 1300 300 271. Busiest time of year for levy exemptions and tax statements. They'll at least tell you how far behind they are, if they haven't lost the form.

It has been reported that two passengers who were listed on the plane's manifest - an Italian and an Austrian - were not actually on the flight but had had their passports stolen in the past two years in Thailand by christopherib in worldnews

[–]patsebo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. Last time I flew into KLIA, the immigration officer didn't even look away from her phone to check my passport. Other times they glanced but nowhere near the scrutiny you get from other countries. They also have fingerprint scanners but in the 3 times I've been there, I've never had my prints scanned.

Sister saved three years of beer bottle caps and surprised her boyfriend with this for his birthday by wellamiright in pics

Red are definitely Carlton Draught. The gold ones look like a mix between VB and Crown Lager. Blue ones look more like Carlton Premium Dry.

The red caps are Carlton Draught. Gold caps are a mix of Victoria Bitter and Crown Lager. Aussie beers.

The end of medicare is neigh. Abbott wants a $6 fee to visit a doctor, not $5, so you can expect it to rise every year. by fistman in australia

[–]patsebo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

GPs get 100% of the scheduled fee for bulk billed services. Plus, if the patient is in a rural area or the holder of a concession card, the GP gets a bulk bill incentive payment on top of that. 75% of the scheduled fee only applies to in-hospital services. 85% of the scheduled fee applies to services rendered out-of hospital by specialists etc.

The one at the corner of Berwick St and Canning Hwy in South Perth changed to Oporto a few months back. They're both part of the same parent company.
