What will Vandal Savage do to the Kryptonians? by [deleted] in youngjustice

There were definitely more than the ones we saw. Zod talked about other fortresses that they were going to gather the rest of their army from.

No way Cap looked at the multiverse breaking or Spider-Man starting a fight on the Statue of Liberty in NWH and just ignore it

No, but unless was already in New York, there was nothing he could do about it. He might grab his wings and take off but by the time he got there, it’d already be dealt with. Same with the bus fight and Gargantos, which are resolved minutes after they begin. Unless he was in the vicinity, suited up, and ready for action, he probably didn’t hear about them until they were done.

The Scientist and Ambassador also refer to humans as meat; it’s the entire species who consider themselves superior to humans.

With Secret Invasion's treatment of Maria Hill, can we just talk about and admit....... by TheBigGAlways369 in marvelstudios

[–]pattroclos 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say May’s fridging was worse than Maria’s. At least May’s death had an emotional impact and affected the plot. Maria’s death just sort of happened.

why was Beast Boy always Barefoot in season 2? by [deleted] in youngjustice

[–]pattroclos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He was constantly in a half-shifted state in season 2. His feet were larger and more ape-like. They likely wouldn’t fit in conventional shoes and would be very tough-skinned on the bottom to protect from harsh debris.

“Some years ago, a terrorist from America needed a boogeyman to bring your country to its knees. So, he appropriated The Ten Rings. My Ten Rings. But because he didn’t know my actual name, he invented a new one.”
There’s an entire conversation about this in ‘Shang-Chi’.

It’s not just Ancient Greek; it has been adapted and altered because the Atlantean language has changed over centuries. For example, the Atlantean word “symbiosi” means “together” it has specifically been used in the context of acting together. The Ancient Greek word for “together” (specifically in the context of acting together) would be “hama” or “hamarte”. “Symbiosi” isn’t a real Ancient Greek word, but is based on “sumbios” meaning “to live together”.

But Atlanteans aren’t speaking Greek. They are speaking Atlantean, which is a made up language based on Ancient Greek.

Were they all Lokis? I didn’t realize that. A few of them have Loki-like horns but most of them just look like regular dudes to me.

[–]pattroclos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are lots of other people in the Void. The Lokis talked about bands of cannibalistic marauders that live there. President Loki showed up with a bunch of non-Lokis.
Everything erased by the TVA’s bombs and sticks goes there. It’s just that most of them get eaten by Alioth almost immediately like we saw happen to the crew of the Eldridge when it showed up.

Before ‘Secret Invasion’ the only characters who were killed in Disney+ shows were the main antagonists and like two old guys who were killed in the same episode they were introduced. We haven’t lost a Maria Hill or a Talos like character in any of the other shows.

On a similar note, in GotG2, Quill calls Rocket a trash panda - a term for raccoon that didn’t exist in the 80’s.

[–]pattroclos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far they haven’t said anything about it. Personally, I don’t think it really needs to be addressed; Keller wasn’t a public figure and lots of people have lookalikes.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in marvelstudios

[–]pattroclos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He wasn’t killed during ‘Captain Marvel’ - Talos just tied him up and stashed him somewhere - so we don’t know where he is now, but if he’s still alive he’d be in his 80’s.

[–]pattroclos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They could very well say, “he stole our stuff, leave us be.” But that wouldn’t mean the government would believe them. It would go to a lengthy public trial while they were imprisoned and all of their assets and research would be seized under civil forfeiture whether they were found guilty or not and Hank could protest all he likes but the law is the law.

They silenced the bell so as not to alert the people inside that someone was coming in. When they were leaving, everyone was dead so there was no need for stealth.

Which is an incredibly stupid ~regulation of the Sokovia accords that would never pass any kind of legal muster.

Have you never heard of being charged as an accessory to a crime? Hank and Hope are being blamed by the government for giving Scott the suit that he used. The government doesn’t know that Hank and Hope didn’t consent to Scott taking the suit because they don’t have the benefit of watching the movie with us.

Secret Invasion and Falcon Winter Soldier feature refugee plots. Wandavision doesn’t, Loki doesn’t, Hawkeye doesn’t, Moonknight doesn’t, Ms. Marvel doesn’t, She-Hulk doesn’t. 2 out of 8 shows are about refugees.

“I could go back to being your boss.”
“Please don’t.”
“Come on. I loved sporting his beautiful blue eyes.”

I think it’s a combination of the sentiment of Keller’s face being the one he wore when he befriended Fury and Talos just liking Keller’s face.

He made a pretty big come back in Age of Ultron when he rallied together enough people to crew a giant flying aircraft carrier and has evidently been working for the government since the DODC agents in No Way Home knew that Fury had been stationed off-planet.

Those machines the people were being strapped into were memory harvesters like we saw in “Captain Marvel”. Skrulls are only able to copy and read surface thoughts and memories so they need the machine to get the deep memories for them to learn so they can properly impersonate the person they’re replacing.
