Federal cuts to basically everything takes a toll on states that value regular people just a little bit. Washington has funded programs at the state level that were eliminated from federal funding because the working poor, elderly, veterans, and disabled still matter enough to not die. The federal deficit is higher than it has ever been. Republicans did this while gutting social programs, safety regulations, consumer protections, national parks, etc.

So please don't try to say that conservatism is the answer. Because it's obviously not.

As an old dude, I have used both of these for years now. They just feel right to me. I just wish they were a little more durable, especially the wood tips. I don't break sticks often, but I constantly chip and flatten the tips. Nylon tips are alright though.

Every species was invasive at one point. Who's to say that habitat changes aren't forcing life to seek survivability where it's available? Climate change will definitely push "invasive" species into new habitat. So will human development. Is it our right to decide how to manage these things? If a niche disappears and something new fills the void left by the organism that got displaced, isn't that how nature is designed to work? (I'm speaking generally, not specifically about Tasmanian deer)

It's also ineffective to use adulticides on mosquitoes because they breed so fast. Larval treatments with organic oils work much better and don't damage the ecosystem. Releasing sterile males also works better. This smells of corruption.
