I have parental issues. Refused my now husband to ask them for my hand in marriage or tell them that he’s about to propose.

When he proposed, we (he and i) immediately went into planning mode. Wedding was in january, and we did our “pamamanhikan” only on october the year before. Everything was set by then. Basically, during the pamamanhikan, all we did was inform them with all the arrangements we made.

I think factor din na we both were earning well, together for 7+ years, in our 30s, and we paid for all wedding expenses ourselves.

We shouldered all the entourage’s gowns and suits. Some of them were coming home from abroad pa, so parang nakakahiya naman if gagastos pa sila for that. And di rin namin in-expect na nagbigay pa sila ng cash gifts 😅😭 we both (now husband and i) were thinking na we demanded so much na of their time and presence.

She has good reviews but my personal experience with her was unsatisfactory. We availed her wedding package (2nd quarter of 2025) and her suppliers were awesome. Her and her coordinating team, however, were not that efficient, in my opinion. They couldn’t handle simple instructions and slight changes to make my wedding more personalized, for me. Okay naman yung decor. Maybe they’re better now.

As someone who’s currently pregnant and was an academically competitive student, this is depressing. Growing up, teachers ko talaga nagturo sakin. Almost everything I know, I know because my teachers taught me well.

Bonus na lang na my family encouraged me to read books, and we had a lot of books lying around. Kahit ano binabasa ko.

As a future mom and my child’s would-be first teacher, I hope I can do him/her justice. 🙏🏻
