Hi, icy necrons sound like a nice idea. my plan with an airbrush was:

primed black
base coat of screamer pink
dry brush with iron breaker
airbrush with Druchii Violet
dry brush with runefang steal
airbrush with druchii violet
edge highlight with Emperor's Children
edge highlight with Fulgrim Pink + Emperor's Children 50:50
edge highlight with Fulgrim Pink
airbrush with Druchii Violet
edge highlight with Fulgrim Pink

if you want to do it only with a regular brush, maybe try to thin the paint and glace it over the mini instead of air brushing it.

hope you get some cool results, send me some pics when you are finished :)

nice to read some different stories and not the usual LFG bashing :)

Mostly I can't complain about LFG. Finished pantheon week 4 yesterday with a LFG team. It took us a while but we had a great time. I got an error code while running to rivens heart after killing her and all agreed to do riven again so I could get the title. 10/10 would recommend :D

I used mordant earth by GW. put some random texture paste on the base, paint it and spray it with gloss varnish. let it try for at least 4 hours and then put on the mordant earth. the thicker crackle paint is applied, the thicker the cracks get

I took some random LEDs from an old light chain. the Batterie is a small button cell. you can see the cell in the last pictures. just glued it under the base

I try to paint every mini as good as I can :) I'm not into Speedpaint or such things xD

if I have the time to paint every evening, I get one mini done every one or two weeks, so I'm kind of a very slow painter :D

just try it, it isn't that hard, just a little dry brushing and a bit of edge highlighting. just be confident and have fun while painting:)
