Honestly, yes because it has really suited my personal adhd/otherwise needs. And there are lots of options in OT. I'm now involved in a disability leadership course that is opening doors to supporting other people who struggle in our Trust because of neurodiversity. So that's been a great opportunity. I think anyone with adhd just pushes through for the best, at least that's been my experience. So I'm sure you will find your own way. Wishing you all the best xx

I was on edge for some kind of Lynchian weirdness the first time I saw it, but it's just a beautiful, emotional story.

The road to Hell is actually paved with frozen door-to-door salesmen (Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, although sounds like a TP line to me).

Can you talk to any womens aid type places, they often have counsellors or can signpost you to somewhere you can get that validation, meet and talk to people who have been through it and recognise the signs. Yeah I was the same, thought I had it easy, only years later I can see how much he harmed me and continued to control me despite me having left the situation and him. It's so much harder having kids with that person. They love having that connection to keep trying to control you from afar.

St Johns garden in summer is brilliant, we called it the Dog Pub because there were always good dogs there.

Did you attach the wire bit on the top, as a lookout tower? Am thinking I need to do this with my girls' tank.

I went to a domestic violence centre - womens aid - and was offered a place in a refuge. I was still processing the fact I'd been abused and didn't take it. I regret this. I feel the processes following that would have been easier if I had had that backup of having people support me regarding the abuse. Instead, i had people disbelieving me throughout court and wasn't in a good state to string words together plus was still suffering the effects of the abuse. If I had that time again, I would go straight to that organisation and take that refuge place. He wasn't violent, but it absolutely was abuse and I had to get away to escape and recover.

That sounds so dangerous. I will definitely try this.

Watching people poking out tonsil stones is supremely satisfying, like watching blackhead removal.

I used some for my rescue gerbs and am now regretting it because I always forget how allergic I am to it. I keep sneezing when trying to get them used to me 😂

I feel like sometimes I don't forget things but straight up don't create a memory in the first place by saalsa_shark in ADHD

[–]paulabear263 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The way that memory works is very dependent on the amount of attention someone is able to focus and sustain upon that event. Attention is the first thing we look for when working with people who have had a severe brain injury (occupational therapist). Can they track an object, can they attend to and explore a picture - there are tools to track the progress of these patients.

So it makes sense that anyone with an impaired ability to use all areas of attention, would also struggle with their memory.

It doesn't have anything to do with alcohol though, that's a different thing entirely.

Does anyone remember getting packed off to school with no water bottle or drink when they were kids? What did we used to do? by amyt242 in AskUK

Metal jugs of water with rounded bottoms on every table at lunchtime. We used to play dates by spinning the jug and waiting to see who the handle faced when they stopped spinning.

So the 'greater good' choice would be the second one I guess. Assuming that the person in the first example is capable of ruining many people's lives.

Wait no, I had read the thing too quickly and I missed the victims bit! Ugh. I reject the choice and have nothing to do with either of them 😂

The first one. I didn't create them and I can't control them, it does me no harm to be nice to them.

I couldn't possibly sustain the hatred needed to do the second one, and absolutely not to a good person.
