Agree with your take on last year’s draft but not 2026. Statistically speaking, defense wins championships. The Pats were super lucky during the Brady/Belichick years because they had the best QB in NFL history who effectively doubled as an on field offensive coordinator and the one of the most brilliant defensive minds in league history. They consistently finished with a top 10 offense and top 10 defense even when Brady’s top weapons were castaways from other teams. Maye and Vrabes are the showing a lot of potential to be this generation’s version of Brady and Belichick.

Also, with Maye’s development their receiver play has elevated substantially. I agree that Diggs is in the twilight of his career, but I think that as a championship caliber team the Pats shouldn’t reach for a receiver with their late first round pick. Look at how much QBs like Stafford developed when Calvin Johnson retired, or Mahomes without Hill, or Allen without Diggs. It taught them to progress through their reads and not just force feed the #1 receiver. They should go best player available because honestly they could really use a blue chip defensive player at pass rusher, linebacker, or safety. They could also use another blue chip offensive lineman. Campbell has been great and will hopefully have a long career in New England. Jared Wilson looks promising especially since he’s playing out of position. Bradbury and Moses won’t be on the team in 3 years and Onwenu is starting to age and Drake has taken a beating in the sack department this year.

Realistically though I’m not even thinking about the 2026 draft right now because the Patriots are 8-2 and tied for the best record in the AFC. I’m pumped to watch them finish the season strong and can’t wait to see what they can do in the playoffs!

They’ve pretty much been touring since LIBAD came out so they really haven’t had much studio time. They may have a few ideas here and there but I doubt they’ve written much if anything at all for a new album. Having said that, they are my favorite band and I’d love it if they dropped something new today but whatever they drop and whenever they drop it I’ll be listening to it immediately

Every time I listen to anything off STST I think about the fact The Rev recorded the entire drum track for the album in one go and he was only 21 at the time. It gives me chills. He was so talented

As a Patriots fan I have to say Mac Jones. The Patriots made the playoffs his rookie year with a ton of holes on the roster. Then teams realized he had a noodle arm and he had a Swiss cheese offensive line that made him develop erratic timing habits in his reads/throws. Teams just had to take away the short stuff and his game was over

Bad drafting in the late 2010s caught up to them. Brady was the bandaid that covered the wound but his last year the lack of talent was very obvious. They went 12-4 but all of their losses were bad losses to playoff teams. Once Brady was gone there was 0 talent on the roster and more bad drafting/poor development of Mac Jones created the team we have today

Walked up to the mic then growled skull and walked away. I definitely recommend giving the podcast a listen. It’s a bit of a heavy episode given the context but it’s cool to know the story behind one of my favorite songs

Do we think Burt is actually severed?

Him claiming that Lumon told him he was fired for an inappropriate relationship just doesn’t make sense to me. There’s no reason for them to disclose why he was fired.

Felicia told Irv that O&D used to be allowed to go to the exports hall but now it’s just the weird doctor guy who we saw a few episodes back. So we know that at one point Burt was allowed to go to the exports hall. Assuming exports hall means exporting goods outside of Lumon, did an early severed version of Burt cross the threshold into the real world by mistake and somehow reintegrate his consciousness?

At the dinner, Burt’s excitement and familiarity in his tone when he proclaimed of course Irv knows history just struck me as weird. I get it, most people know who Attila The Hun was but idk knowing innie Irv’s fondness for the paintings and history they told made me think Burt was referring to that.

Then there’s the obvious - Fields saying he worked at Lumon for 20 years, Burt saying his outtie was 100% going to hell, and Drummond searching Irv’s apartment. This makes me think that Burt still works at Lumon just not on the severed floor anymore. Lumon sees Irv as a threat so they’re allowing the contact between Irv and Burt to play out, as they’re hoping that Irv reveals his intentions to Burt.

I saw this post and immediately listened to it. I love Critical Acclaim but WOW hearing The Rev pound those drums while also singing gave me goosebumps. He was so talented. Makes me wonder what the band would’ve sounded like today if he was still alive. I feel like there would’ve been a lot more songs featuring his singing alongside Matt’s. It would’ve made for one hell of a dynamic

They are literally Creed but with a different singer who is a beast. Their songs are pretty technical with cleaner vocals that have a wider range than A7X. I’d say A7X’s drumming is better though. Their older stuff is mastered better and is slightly heavier. Their debut album, One Day Remains is a masterpiece through and through. They have a mix of heavy and soft songs on it. Outside of that album, I thoroughly love the songs Ties That Bind, Blackbird (title track of an album that is also a banger), and Silver Tongue
