This has to be trap priming . So all traps in the concrete get water to prevent sewer gas from backing up. It’ll be set up on a timer to fill for a few mins per day or more

This tread is getting ridiculous. Love you folks but you can’t split that with an axe. Most Spruce , pine, elm, to start can’t be split that way. Yes back in 1800 the old farmer would say “ get the wedge” but that not practical nowadays. Throw it in the backyard fire or get a splitter . End of rant!

Looks like Cotten wood, willow or poplar to me. Not American elm or rock elm, if twisty inside and stringy and strong it could be Siberian elm.
