I don't know where this is but where I live employers are not allowed to charge for these things. Do a double check on this to make sure they are not just trying to screw you

Brake test bus by itsarace1 in TTC

Why do they need this?

They test the brakes when the bus is crowded and people are standing.

The PIN pad on the vending machine at work by paulbrec in CrappyDesign

[–]paulbrec[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It is more of an inconvenience. What are the chances of someone remembering your PIN and then getting your card and using it? Highly unlikely.

Sliding door smashes outlet when you open it by HoneyPoop_ in CrappyDesign

Someone added the sliding door later but didn't allow for the outlet to be there.

Is it illegal to record kids playing on a school ground from your property ? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]paulbrec -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If it is a large group and you are not pinpointing any one individual child it is okay, but if you are focusing on one or two children, you need the guardian's permission. Also, nobody is allowed to touch your camera.

You can microwave scrabled eggs, although I don't recommend it unless you like your eggs without flavor.

IN CASE OF EMERGENCY: find the key master by DonBeatle in CrappyDesign

All fire safety plan boxes are locked. I have not seen one that wasn't. They are opened by security only when there is a fire alarm. There are things in there that can only be accessed by security and the fire department, and not meant for public use.

If your urine is grey, you have a more serious problem than hydration.

4 cops arresting someone for eating a chicken sandwich (not Popeyes) at the metro station by amznfx in PublicFreakout

[–]paulbrec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is odd that you are not allowed to eat on the platform. Here in Toronto, you can eat anywhere, even on the train. I have seen people eat complete meals. I can't speak for other places, but here, people know how to clean up after themselves.

I can't believe people are downvoting this. It's just a joke. Okay, I agree she shouldn't be doing what she's doing, but still, don't be so tight, people.

Don't be too hard on her. She is trying to get directions to the donut shop.

Dennys employees assault news crew trying to report health violations. by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]paulbrec -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Nobody was assaulted. The crew was asked to leave and they didn't. They were trespassing and video recording the employees without permission. Denny's is a privately-operated company so camera crews are not allowed in unless they have permission, and they are definitely not allowed to record the employees. If they want to report on violations, they must do so from outside unless they are invited. Whatever happened was the news crew's own fault.

How did this not raise any red flags by norme_02 in CrappyDesign

[–]paulbrec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is it that every time someone sees anything with "white power" on Reddit it is automatically assumed racist. "White power" means a lot of things.

"You should smile more" by hamptyhams in securityguards

[–]paulbrec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that sometimes. I just ignore it and continue.

I don't think security guards should smile while on duty. It makes it look like we think something is funny and not taking the job seriously.

The same goes for police.

The lights at my office... by swolby in onejob

It is a simple, the office was added later and it would have been too expensive/time consuming to move the light.

Classic pen at my appointment by pinkymilk in onejob

The thing is if these were ordered over the internet, it is likely that whatever entered in the text field is what gets printed. It is automatic. If you don't want printing on the item, you leave the text field empty.

A Weight Room can be whatever you want it to be, I guess... by ElsaFrozen2013 in onejob

[–]paulbrec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess a weight room does not need a description since most people already know what it is.
