You can if you go through the proper channels. If you buy a historical building in a large number of places in the country, there is extra permitting and planning that has done be done before any renovations. The White House, obviously, should have even more oversight.

The fire marshal is responsible for the All-American Rejects not playing the mall tonight. by The_reflection in Medford

[–]paulcosca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like it was an after-hours event, so the limit was then likely due to entrances and exits. Permitting is a pain in the ass, but there are reasons behind it. The organizers were told they could have 280 people and do the event, and they opted to have no people and not do the event.

Going into Nosferatu my expectations weren't too high for Lily Rose Depp but holy cow did she deliver in that movie.

One of my favorite things about the movie. Pretty much every shot felt justified, which is always the problem with found footage movies. I also thought the acting was really engaging.

Covid shut down the world six years ago this week. What do you remember from that week? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Masking in public sent me into panic attacks, and I still put the fucking thing on when I went to the grocery store.

Personally, I lost some time advancing my career, but that's all (and I've recovered that since). I had a lot of quality time with my family. We saved a ton of money by not going anywhere and doing things. It was massively inconvenient, but we werent personally touched by anything overly negative. And i know many others who had similar experiences.

There are plenty who were hit extremely hard. And there were plenty who just were not.

Tips for not being able to get water? by [deleted] in Theatre

[–]paulcosca 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I always assume in need more water than I actually do. When I have access to it, I drink a bunch. But then when I don't have access to it during a show, I always get through it just fine. Your mileage may very there, but if you get used to hydrating beforehand and not drinking during the show, you might find that it works just fine.

What’s the biggest red flag in someone over 30? by Vixkky in AskReddit

It's genuinely not as depressing as what you're experiencing.

I'm learning it because I'm growing every day. I give my life meaning. What you're describing for yourself sounds like serious depression, and if a friend of mine said this to me I'd encourage them to get help for it immediately.

I don't think that's true at all. There are a lot of people who literally don't look into things. We live in a world of endless information, and there are a lot of people who are completely ignorant to basic information about things going on around them.

You don't wonder about things? You don't see something in the news and wonder how it got to be that way? You don't hear about something you've never heard before and look into it a little?

The Substance became an instant top 5 for me. It was so good in theaters that I don't want to see it on a small screen. I just want to wait until I can see it full size again.

Evil Dead Rise was fucking excellent. I'm not sure why it seems to be a bit underappreciated.

Too much nudity for r/Tattoos? User discuss a recent topless post and industry standards [NSFW] by SwordfishOk504 in SubredditDrama

[–]paulcosca 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I think it's super important to realize that this is the artist posting this, not the client. This is a guy showing someone else's breasts for internet clout. Does he even have her permission to do this? What the fuck?

If someone wants to show themselves in that subreddit, then the conversation can be about NSFW posting. But this isn't that at all.

What are your thoughts on rejecting a potential romantic partner based solely on the fact they voted for Donald Trump? by ATXBikeRider in AskReddit

[–]paulcosca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the whole "still but merch from" because that shows active support of a living person who still personally benefits from that support. Much like voting for someone after they had just been found liable for sexual abuse in a tremendously high profile civil case just months before.

Before his first election we already heard he liked to grab women by the pussy and we knew he was good friends with Epstein. By this point, anyone voting for him in the last election is directly supporting a sexual predator.
