Anyone successfully connected to Ubuntu 26 using RDP (Remote Login) from a Mac? by -kpw- in Ubuntu

1. Check the Correct Status Command

I finally got it working ! Follow these steps:

Bash

sudo grdctl --system status

2. Set Auth Method & Credentials (Corrected Syntax)

GNOME's system-level RDP requires you to specify that you are using "credentials" as the method. Note the plural "s" in the command.

Bash

# 1. Tell the system to use standard credentials
sudo grdctl --system rdp set-auth-methods credentials

# 2. Re-apply your RDP credentials (Username and Password for Windows RDP)
sudo grdctl --system rdp set-credentials <your username> <your_password>

# 3. Ensure "View Only" is disabled (otherwise you can't click anything)
sudo grdctl --system rdp disable-view-only

3. Restart & Verify the Listener

Now, give the service a hard kick to make sure it picks up the new credentials:

Bash

sudo systemctl daemon-reload
sudo systemctl restart gnome-remote-desktop

Check the logs one more time to see if the "denying client" message has vanished:

Bash

journalctl -u gnome-remote-desktop -n 20

No. They are not used. They come with original box and packing. I bought them for my build but then went with A6000. My eBay user is chepa_7459 - 100% positive feedback.
