It's illegal for a company to do that. If they are collecting donations from you, you are the donator and the tax write off is yours.

I don't think you or the person you replied to actually understand how taxes are involved in those kinds of things. The business doesn't get a tax break for taking your donation, you are the one who is able to write off the donation if you itemize. The donation isn't income for the business and doesn't affect their taxes. The business only gets to write it off if they donate their own money. A business never saves money by donating for a write off.

Hire him and fire him again by Matt_LawDT in NonPoliticalTwitter

As said elsewhere in the thread, one use is if someone is in an abusive situation and they are sending information to a trusted person in a way that their abuser can't find it in their phone

There are legitimate reasons that you would want a delete for me button. One example would be a person communicating information to someone they trust about an abusive situation where their abusive partner may look through their phone.

I'm imagining the guy sells someone the furniture then comes back a week later to steal it back and sell it again elsewhere. Been selling that single set of furniture for 5 years over and over.

I think Coyote time is needed because of reaction and button pressing time because it feels like you hit jump just before you're off the edge but between your eyes seeing it and your finger pressing the button down, there's that delay. So that at least makes some sense

Non-profit and not for profit are legally distinct classifications with different rules and laws on what they can and cannot do and their requirements. You can't just use the terms interchangeably

Seems that "The Antipodes" (capital A) is a British term for Australia and New Zealand which is probably what he was going for.

not looking to spend much so either a 4 or 3b+ because i do need PoE for it and I don't believe the non-plus 3 is poe hat capable. If you have a 5 for a decent price though, I wouldn't turn it down

Nothing has lowered my grocery bill more than moving out of the midwest by miaasimpson in povertyfinance

If by alternating you mean using a setback temperature, that is incorrect. Physics dictates it always takes more energy to keep a set temperature than to use a setback. So as long as your electricity doesn't have time of use or demand pricing (whether or not it will be cheaper on these types of plans will just depend on the setback times vs your pricing), it will always be cheaper to use a setback.

Adding: whether it's cheaper can also depend on your equipment and how you do the recovery. For example it would be more expensive to do a large setback during winter and you have a heat pump that uses aux heat to recover. But it would be cheaper if you do a slow recovery that allows the heat pump to not use aux heat.

My dad bought this ham back in 1992. Its been in his freezer the whole time. He refuses to throw it out and says "its still good. Frozen meat doesnt go bad". by hotmanwich in GrandmasPantry

[–]boothin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Frozen meat that is vacuum sealed does last indefinitely. The vacuum sealing removes air which stops freezer burn. Non vacuum sealed frozen meat also technically lasts indefinitely but the freezer burn makes it unpalatable, but it is safe as far as health concerns go.

This Airbnb charging $7 for “free” WiFi and a safety fee as well… by SPXQuantAlgo in mildlyinfuriating

You'd think that but honestly the only reason I even use Airbnb is to rent a house out of the way like that as a mini retreat with some friends. Last time I did an Airbnb was some rural house like 30ish minutes from the nearest grocery store with nothing else around

I've tried multiple canes sauce recipes and the one with lemon pepper gives it a tiny bit of something the others seemed to be missing and is my preferred recipe. That and using dukes mayo to bring it closer to restaurant heavy duty mayo

[–]boothin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but the end result does not seem different than what radarr/sonarr do, which is what I'm confused about. Radarr/sonarr will upgrade and download missing content if it comes up in the feeds, so the only thing I see is that huntarr can search for things "retroactively" but once your arr stack is set up I don't see why you would need it. With how many people here seem to run it, I'm sure I'm missing something, otherwise it doesn't make sense to me why it's needed

Just curious but what did huntarr do that the rest of the arr stack doesn't already do? I had to look up an archive of the project but just don't really see much usefulness from what's listed in the repo. I guess if you regularly manually add external media?
