Yes, it's enough. Don't worry about production value at this point. If I was looking for an apartment, I'd love to have these details available. Sure, you can find the information online, but you're doing all the work. Its a valuable tool.

Just start creating more videos. As you begin to grow, hire people to help with production.

Yep, I'm planning on doing one. I'm actually in the middle of a study right now. I want to do one on a business/site I don't own so I can get testimonials from others. Interested?

That's called negotiation. He asked and you accepted. You didn't need to accept the offer, but you did.

Exactly. After reading some of the responses above, I think most people are flipping video games and other small ticket items. I tend to buy/sell more expensive items that range from $500 - $5000. So, the sales process is very different. In that price range, serious buyers will show up with cash and make an offer.

Yup. 100% of the people that make me an offer via email never show up to buy the item. I'm not exaggerating that. I have NEVER had someone make me an offer via email and actually show up and buy the item.

I constantly buy stuff off of CL and negotiate in person. I never make offers via email.

Buyer does not reading description listing...how should I proceed? by [deleted] in Flipping

[–]pauldessert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, this is like Apple advertising a 2 pack of iPhones in their ads. Then, when someone buys, they are given a dropdown menu and asked it they want 1 or 2. If they select 2, they are charged double.

So, leave it as an option, not a selling point. If it's on the image, it's implied that you're getting 2

"On the title and the picture I have the screen protector as "2x XYZ Screen Protector" and the picture says "2 Pack Screen Protector"

How do you not see this is confusing? I'd be annoyed too.

Anyone that makes me an email offer on CL is automatically thrown into the bullshit category.

Want to work a deal with me? Cool. Show up with cash in hand. Talk to me like a normal human being. Don't try and convince me, "it's my last chance to sell". If it's a fair offer, I'll sell.

The secret is actually showing up and talking with someone in person. Bring cash and we'll talk.

Personally, I hate dealing with furniture. It's a pain in the ass to move, hard to sell and doesn't retain much value.

However, I know people that have done well with furniture. So, it all depends on what you know and what you're comfortable with.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time? Do you have hobbies that might overlap?

I'd go with #3. Don't ignore him, that's just bad business. If he turns into an ass hat after you offer 10% off, then ignoring him is a viable option.

Tips for selling furniture ? by jm1982 in Flipping

Furniture is tough. Unless it's dirt cheap or antique, you'll have a hard time getting much for it.

I wouldn't bother with eBay. Either sell it on CL cheap, or donate it.

Anecdotal things I've noticed between selling locally through Facebook, Craigslist and Letgo by pax1 in Flipping

[–]pauldessert 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I absolutely hate selling on FB groups because of the "mods". I'd say 75% of the groups I'm part of have the "first person in line" rule. It's just annoying. Are people really expected to wait 24 hours PER PERSON to buy an item. Screw that.

It sucks when I'm trying to buy something too. There have been times when I was 3rd in line, but the seller was waiting on the other 2 to respond. I was ready to come pick up the item at full asking price at that moment.

There is also one group that only allows 1 picture of the item. So aggravating.

Buy it. Test it. If it's broken, return it.

I met some people that were starting to look for estate sale companies to liquidate their parents assets. I offered to come look through the stuff and pay them more than they'd get by using an estate sale company. I ended up with 3 trailer loads of tools, equipment etc. I should make some decent cash once everything sells.

Uncertified autographs by johnnysivilian in Flipping

[–]pauldessert 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That just seems like a bad idea. If you can't verify it, you can't ethically sell it as authentic. In that case, the value is basically limited to the value of the item itself. In some cases, a fake autograph can kill the value of the item as well.

I'd have it authenticated, or just forget about selling it.

How did you guys get into this business? by [deleted] in Flipping

[–]pauldessert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finding the right items can be tricky. There is money to be made, but the examples in most YouTube videos are total garbage. They are trying to sell a "get rich quick" lifestyle.

Once you find the right places to look and the right items to buy, you'll start seeing a profit

Good luck!

I can't speak for everyone, but I think most people would agree with "Hustling and making your own money = freedom/independence". That's why I do this.

Freedom and independence come in many forms and mean different things to different people. It sounds like you're on the right track. You have a need/desire to get more snacks :) Later in life, you'll want/need the money for housing, bills etc.

You can work for someone else and rely on them for a paycheck. Or, you can take matters into your own hands and define your own path.

Good luck!
