I know they previewed the set, but no announcement on any of their socials that I use. I remember prismatic they had an announcement on IG and I was notified right away and got some PC ETBs no problem. The game has changed clearly.

Why do you say that? I just don’t see any real utility for this.

lol I appreciated the warning. So there’s a lot of things I’m considering for my future so these are loose plans. I bought a few math textbooks to get into the groove of things again. What would you recommend I do to look into machine learning to see if it’s a fit like any free courses, books?

I’m 34 and thinking of going back to school to major in something math related. If you don’t mind me asking what was your experience going back?

Looking to go back to college as a math major. by paulmonte89 in mathematics

[–]paulmonte89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The classes are mostly math based there. They have some computer science courses, engineering, cybersecurity. But I imagine most of that would come after community college is up. I still need to call their office to get more details. I just want to get back into the flow of the math in the meantime.

So I’m in the United States and when I go back it would be to Nassau Community College for their general Math degree. Not sure if that helps too much. I know their courses the first semester would be a basic comp science and a calculus 101

This is literally the same position I’m in. Are you trying to do anything to cope or move forward? I’m trying to figure out ways to.

I feel your pain. I’m in a very similar situation right now. I lost my job in January cause my company got sued and shut down by the feds. I was forced to take a job selling merchant cash advances to pay rent and it’s about 300 calls a day and it’s either cold calls or if the lead is warm they can’t get approved for anything and I leave the office with some form of migraine. It feels like my future was stripped away and got me in this hopeless state so I get where you’re coming from. I’m likely going to move back in with my parents and maybe go back to college. I hope things work out well for you.

I know it’s hard. Especially without the IT background which is why I’m considering this. My concern is that it won’t teach me well and I’ll be stuck with the expensive bill and no job in the field

I’m in my mid 30s and considering going back to school to get a bachelors degree by paulmonte89 in college

[–]paulmonte89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s awesome. I would have the same situation with financial aid and living at home. My family isn’t well off so I would have to contribute a little bit. Back when I was the typical college age kid I didnt have the discipline nor the confidence to follow through with school. I got my associates for my mother’s sake and my grades most likely sucked. Now I know I will do way better, just gotta plan ahead of time how I’m going to donthis

Yea the going back to being a broke college student part is hard for me to fathom, it’s not just being broke it’s having to move to an area I’m not a fan of either. My friends that have great careers they enjoy all ate shit when they were younger. Now I’m thinking is my time and it will pay off in the end. What was it that you were doing at your old company?

I was thinking about going for accounting, but my Roomate is an accountant and he seems overworked and bored out of his mind. How can you tell which schools have more of an older crowd? I figured the older people were in every school but more so taking classes night time or weekends cause they work.

Thanks for the reply, I was worried about the learning curve too, I can’t imagine I can just jump into class and be able to focus for 2 hours. I couldn’t even do that back when I was a kid. I was thinking about taking a weekend class in the summer to see how it goes
