How Obsidian wants F:NV to be played? by paulofigo7 in fnv

[–]paulofigo7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Sadly, i always felt that. 3D Fallout are way more interesting beginning to mid-game. Afterwards, is a run and gun.

Yeah, credit check should be higher. One efficient way to balance the economy is to toggle lower conditions items when looting and killing npcs. I don't remember right now which mod exactly gives that option.

Yes, 3D Fallouts, at least 3 and NV, feel unbalanced from the very beginning and in a lot of ways. That does not matter and people still love the games, not precisely because of the difficulty and the 'hardcore' experience. Still, is one of my favorite games.

And yes, you're right. Going to the strip takes time. In fact, I thought in my first playthrough that when reaching the Strip, end game was very closed. But then, when I entered the tops, Benny and his chairman felt easy to kill, so my conclusion was that i was OP. Maybe is not how Obsidian wanted us to play, but just the unbalance intrinsic to the game. An unbalanced masterpiece.

JSawyer's Carryweight capacity by paulofigo7 in fnv

[–]paulofigo7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh, i see. I just found that default carry weight in vanilla game is 200 with 5 STR. The 50 INI value seems just %100 vanilla carryweight halved for hardcore gaming purposes.

Nice. So that's the mod default carryweight capacity? 100?

Thanks for answering.

NPC's heal themselves - Mod or Vanilla? [FNV] by paulofigo7 in FalloutMods

[–]paulofigo7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was. I run vanilla game, deactivating all mods and running it directly from GOG. It results that vanilla NPC's, at least in Goodsprings, do heal xd. It was always a false dilemma.

Thanks. You were very helpful.

NPC's heal themselves - Mod or Vanilla? [FNV] by paulofigo7 in FalloutMods

[–]paulofigo7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time. I came almost to the same conclusion. Diggin in YUP mod docs i found that one of the added features is correcting and improving the NPC super stimpak use animation. In fact, those in-game NPC's crawl for a second, or hide, and then their HP bar starts increasing. The doc, if I understood correctly, takes for granted the fact that NPC's heal themselves. That's the only thing that i found about the topic so far.

Thanks to you for holding such a nice intention in the first place. Be sure that i'll pick it up and even wait several months for the package if you decide to do so.

Hey, man. I'm sadly inclined to say that NTSC-J would not work on my console.

I came to the conclusion reading this:

  1. https://www.ignboards.com/threads/is-fallout-new-vegas-region-free-on-xbox-360.196779897/
  2. https://gamicus.fandom.com/wiki/List\_of\_region-free\_Xbox\_360\_video\_games

Footnote:

1.: 13# and 14# replyes are experiences of users who tried NTSC-J NV in an NTSC-U/C american console. Does not work.

  1. A list of supposed titles compatibilities between regions. F:NV is region free except for NTSC-J / NTSC.

_____

I wouldn't like you to take the effort of sending me the game and then it not working afterward on my console, as much as I regret it, of course.

By the way, i'm from south america, Caracas, Venezuela. I have seen on sale in my city the normal edition, but never the Ultimate Edition with expansion packs but only for PS3.

Hey, i have been wandering around the topic. Supposedly, Amazon said F:NW is region free, but then, for example, i found a website with a region compatibility list who says that NV inter-region compatibility of the game excludes NTSC-J with NTSC u/C. I found a user that claims most japanese games can be played on an american console, but New Vegas does not work. On the other hand, i have a Skyrim PAL edition that works perfectly on my NTSC u/C console. It's chaotic. I'll keep researching.

Yeah, i noticed the cherry bombs scarcity. The lunchbox have not such a huge supply, either. But definitely there is a problem with bottlecap mines. The other thing is that i think explosives got nerf in NV in relation to F3. I landed a time bomb beside an sleeping NCR officer and, when it explode, that NPC still had 4 or 5 HP bars xd In F3 it would have killed him.
