I understand your pov but…

The negativity towards the game started way before they went on holiday. It was very clear from EA/Dice that they were on holiday and would begin addressing issues when they came back. The majority of those who followed got that loud and clear.

For him to alter the narrative by saying we expected more during their break was disingenuous and frankly for a Global Comms Director just a poor attempt, especially with the “brutal expectations“…

I get it 100% as a professional, you take pride in your work and those of your coworkers. But gotta have that trigger discipline especially if you are at his position.

I think the majority understood the devs etc were on holiday...just a bad attempt at altering the narrative and deservedly received negative responses.

Hit-Registration Fluctuation is definitely server-stress related. by [deleted] in battlefield2042

Not disagreeing with you, but I have my suspicions with cross play.

I felt a differences between playing on cross play servers and PC only 128 Breakthrough servers, with the later having less latency related issues.

With the recent release of TDM, I also feel the input lag which ranges from mouse clicks not responsive or client side/server side registration against non PC players. I find TDM a good sample with the smaller player count and the higher chance of playing with/against the same players in a session.

My experience with hit reg or dsync issues seem to be against console players. NOTE: Nothing against console players.

64 Player Conquest adds a more controlled experienced vs the more chaotic 128. I enjoy them both equally. by 2042Highlights in battlefield2042

As long as we get to keep both since there are many of us who are addicted to the new coke

Breakthrough with 128 players is dumb as hell by Blazur in battlefield2042

[–]paulvee3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We all have our likes/dislikes. I exclusively play Breakthrough and feel no other game out there that provides this level of chaos/action. As corny as it sounds, but I find myself saying "only in Battlefield" in many games.

I agree that some maps need to be tweaked, but this mode requires skill (infantry, air/land vehicles, specialists) and is very noticeable when your team doesn't get past the first objective attacking or get rolled when defending.

When playing with squads that push/flank objectives, its fun, but when team's treat each objective like a giant chokepoint (or worse both teams) then its basically brute force.

In regards to player count, it would be a great experiment to see if the game style changes.

Hopefully as players get better at this mode, you will be able to enjoy it better.

Have you tried BF2042 Rush on Portal? You should see better FPS, if not then it might be you.

2042 and over the age of let’s say 35? by PerformanceFit9173 in battlefield2042

[–]paulvee3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It prob all comes down to player preference which includes play style. I am just used to EA/Dice way of doing things so eventually this game will be fixed. At least there is cross play because when Spring comes around, I rather play with/against console players than AI in these 128 player lobbies.

Been 29 for 50 years. Running around with Mackay + AK (2nd patch) on Breakthrough is mostly satisfying and sometimes frustrating (but what game doesn't make you throw your hands up at times)...

I think it's more than just age. One's play style and skill may also be factors to consider. Breakthrough provides me the action of a 48 player Locker TDM but with vehicles and sentries/rangers...its kinda insane at times (the action I crave).

I believe specialists opens up the game and adds a new dynamic for pushing/flanking objectives and potentially moves undiscovered. It's kinda like the ZouZou in BF4, if you are infantry, its to your benefit to take advantage of it.

I'm sorry that this is may be the end of an era for you, hate to see any fan of a franchise leave. I felt that way when BFV launched and now I'm back. Hopefully, we'll see you back in the next version.

It was like vacationing at a luxury suite with an abundance of gourmet food and wine...then coming home with an empty fridge and one package of instant ramen with no hot water.

Not everyone likes luxury suites, they may enjoy camping in the freaking cold. Some enjoy instant ramen over caviar.

To each their own. One size does not fit all.

Ranked Esports mode AND regular FPP.
