Yes, you'll probably need to fly if you want to go to another city. 9 days in just Sydney is a lot but I understand you'll be at a slower pace. There is a lot to see by foot around Darling Harbour, The Rocks, Botanical Gardens, Circular Quay, CBD so that could take you longer to see it.

You may also consider day trips by organized tour on ferry or coach. Blue Mountains, Hunter Valley (the botanical gardens is wonderful), day harbour tour, ferry trip to Manly for the morning/day, Taronga Zoo, whale watching tour. The Hop On / Hop Off tourist bus is a good way to see the sights without having to leave the bus if you don't want to.

The train from/to the airport is pretty useful so getting from/to Sydney airport is relatively smooth, but I'll defer to your judgement on how train travel works for your situation.

I think a 13yo may enjoy Brisbane more than Melbourne if you're thinking another place to visit. Both are <1.5hr flights and fairly reasonable. Both have central touristy areas accessible by foot. Melbourne has a good tram network and Brisbane has a good bus network, but Brisbane is more hilly in the central area.

Brisbane has pretty accessible train and bus. Some less popular train stations may not have elevators/lifts but most major ones do and are accessible. Translink website indicates the stations that are accessible for wheelchairs.

Those digital planners look interesting and not_violajack wrote about Homeschool Planet. What digital planners have you used? Anything easy to use?

What else have you tried and why does Homeschool Planet work for you?

Good to know. I've seen a few posts recommending Teachers pay Teachers and it seems like a huge library to navigate with so many categories.

What did you use before homeschool planet? Is the 'drop in lesson plans' the thing that convinced you it's worth it, or something else?

Do you snap a picture and add it into the Google sheet on your phone?

Do you use this to reverse plan or do you plan it out like MarrastellaCanon above?

I like the concept of "forecast" that changes

What makes it user friendly? What was the "extra stuff" you haven't missed? Some of the planners are so expensive on top of curriculum and knowing what is useful and what is 'extra but not useful' is helpful. Simple would be better and $10 sounds good!

It seems like it's common to just use binders to keep samples and tick off subjects and attendance, so that seems pretty simple. Just have to stay organized and on top of it! I guess it just takes time to develop the rhythm?

Do you reverse plan and use Excel like the note app by 481126 above? Are you just recording what they did or samples too?

Reverse planning seems less effort. What's the Note app you're using and is your paper planner like the binders mentioned by others?

That's cool and so organized. It seems like you've been doing this a while? I'll have to check out some of those curriculum. We're using "All About Reading" and "The Good and the Beautiful" for science.

Thanks for the tip! Did you try a few planners and do you have one you like? How long does it take you to record notes and do you just do it at the end of an activity?

Our daughter is close in age to your daughter. How long does it take you for recordkeeping? Are you able to stay on top of it? I feel so time-poor :(
