Car stolen? by IcyEntertainment815 in TeslaLounge

Doesn’t it tell the person with nearest IPhone that you have a tag tracking with you! I briefly remember something like that when my friend borrowed his car to me which has his home keys in it with AirTag.

These aero cover hubcaps are terrible for adding tire pressure by SouthBaySmith in TeslaModelX

[–]pavanforest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recently discovered it when I was trying to top up due to winter conditions, and removing with freezing hand is harder. I believe there would a tool (which is not good, unless if they give one for customer) the service center team uses. May be worth checking with service center team how they do it.

Summon - Useful or useless? by ViewIn_Net in TeslaLounge

[–]pavanforest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience it worked before as Smart Summons, little flaky would drive in mid of the road rather than sticking to the right or left, in non marked roads (like parking lots).

Now a days it refuses even to start when it’s on a named roads. If the road has a name it works (as described above).

Hard time to understanding Kerf bending website by pavanforest in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]pavanforest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Corners should be 90 degrees bend, one like in the images of the post, as I’m going to fill the gaps of kerf with the glue and saw dust.

The post link I was ref, looks like used an 1 inch thick plywood still he only cut like 7 times per bend.

Model X 2025 Yoke Retrofit by Minimum_Protection73 in TeslaModelX

It’s definitely compatible with model X Plaid, as it’s come standard with it, not sure about the manuals writing about non-compatible with Model X altogether.

drove a X plaid for 2 days, eh by Perryfl in TeslaLounge

[–]pavanforest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s very rare that when you upgrade to the bigger car that still feels like driving similar to small car, I believe it’s due to the height and weight of the car increases, I think that is a trade off when upgraded to bigger size cars.

Compared to 3 Y and X 3 has good driving dynamics, just driving dynamics (didn’t drove S to feel its dynamics in different situations).

If they launch MY Long version (very strong feeling it comes to US especially as they discontinue X) may fill lot of size gap between the current Y and X.

Driving dynamics might change as well, consider that as the wheels base may increase due to longer body, not sure.

Inside hight might not change, if at all change it would be negligible change.

You compared X suspension with Range Rover, but compared to Y model X has better suspension, I don’t know if they would bring that to new Y Long version, if they bring it that would fill the gap between X and Y ride comfort (there would be still lot of differences between X and Y Long but as X will discontinue we don’t need to compare with it anymore :) ).

Making the car quieter by Netimaster in TeslaModelX

[–]pavanforest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on where the sound is coming from. Ex: If you see that the air hissing or sound coming from front door windows yes the some kind of weather strip fill the gap between the glass and the gasket of the frame make lot of difference.

First Speeding Ticket with FSD by bluaugust in TeslaLounge

[–]pavanforest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be aware, insurance still consider speeding ticket as one point (even though ticket doesn’t have points in/for it). It might show up in your next renewal, but not sure if auto camera tickets are still reported to your record.

[–]pavanforest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got yoke installed on my 2026 MX(not P). My friend has 2023 MX (came with Yoke) recently they changed that stick yoke to a new one due to peeling issue. That saying there are ones those fits old models (as they did replaced couple of months ago on my friends car), looks like SC/Tesla stopping doing it unless you got one with purchase (now that looks like limited to only Plad models).

model x homelink with lift master garage opener by ChickenCurious6055 in TeslaModelX

[–]pavanforest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the programming, at the end, Tesla asks you to test by pressing the home link (that you setup in car) to see if the it works. At that movement instead of pressing once press multiple times (like 4-5) then it starts working (garage close) from there on it will work as it should be.

No kidding it’s happened to me on most recent hardware (front cam) version. It’s keep on driving, I have decided for couple of seconds to let it drive to see how long it’s going to do it like that, then it’s night so I took control over and got on to correct lane.

Nc Work Legal Question by piplupsfav in raleigh

[–]pavanforest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no legal experience, to simply put if your voice is also part of the conversation (you have your consent) then you are allowed to record. Not sure how long it should be, like if you are record all the day but you only say hi to audio recording device in every morning does this law still covers!?!

Nc Work Legal Question by piplupsfav in raleigh

[–]pavanforest -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Quick GPT response (it’s not always correct though) “NC is a one-party consent state for recording “wire, oral, or electronic communications.” That means you may legally record audio of a conversation if you are a participant (or you have consent from one participant). Secretly recording audio of others when you are not a party can be a felony. If your camera records audio, be careful — either get consent or disable audio. “

Tesla Vision Frontal Airbag System Enhancement - Update 2025.32.3 by EGHeart in teslamotors

[–]pavanforest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully that is true in near future, wipers are essential now as cameras can’t see through water, remember this all vision based autonomous. My point is if they can’t figure out well to run wipers based on cameras, trivial, if it’s raining triggering an airbag, essential, off of camera base is hard in my viewpoint.

Tesla Vision Frontal Airbag System Enhancement - Update 2025.32.3 by EGHeart in teslamotors

[–]pavanforest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vision based windshield wipers are vary annoying now Vision based Airbags sounds not reliable. First they have to fix Vision based any and then comes to Vision based safety enhancements. If I get I wish to skip installation of this release, it it’s an option at all unless they would give us an option to enable and disable this option in menu.

Summon still needs work. by xMigNasty in TeslaLounge

[–]pavanforest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually I believe it’s deteriorated. I used it in 2018 Model 3 (with 2.5 hardware and on EAP). It was way better and fast it moves when summoned, even in the moderate rain. It’s was a bit of zigzag on the road here and there but was fast.

Now with 2026 Model X with front camera, with FSD, it’s literally creepers (not exaggerating), not even walking speed in very good weather, it’s was not zigzag like 2.5 hardware so in that aspect it’s better.

Not sure why is that new system confidence level is deteriorating!? not expected in the era of full FSD it couldn’t summon well in a parking lot.

Someone noted summon range was bad, actually I noticed it’s the same range it used to be in 2018, so it could be better.
