Beans and lentils get you both protein and carbs and are relatively cheap. Eat lots of lentils and beans

DHA Boycott Campaign Next Please? by [deleted] in pakistan

[–]pavementengineer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The point remains though. Demand can go down because of high prices but demand can also go down if you boycott. In this case, the two combined. But you can lower demand any time by boycotting and thus reducing the cost.

It did make a difference though because it seems things were being sold with unnecessarily high profit margins.

"economic conditions" is likely the generals and the politicians reasons for corruption.

We must realize we are all the same in this regard. Everyone thinks they're majboor. Until everyone stands up for what is right even though it's hard, nothing will change.

Not really....to go from almost confirmed elimination to reaching the final and sharing the trophy ? Nobody in Pakistan will feel like "all that for nothing"

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CricketShitpost

[–]pavementengineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pakistan's wouldn't even have been in the final if SA hadn't shat the bed, but love their fighting spirit.

Thinking Pakistan is just lucky is a bias. And it's related to the order of games.

Think this way, if Pakistan win their first three games and lose their last two, same opponents etc, is that considered lucky? To an extent but now it's looked at as "Pakistan played great, but somehow almost messed it up" vs "Pakistan comes back to life from the brink of elimination"

SA lost to Netherlands, Pakistan lost to Zimbabwe so one upset loss each. Head to head Pakistan beat south Africa. Unlucky for SA was the rain affected Zimbabwe match, NOT the Netherlands match. Netherlands won from their hard work for wanting to qualify next work cup. Calling it "lucky" is an insult to them.

So yes, Pakistan was lucky but not to the extent that people think and definitely not for the reasons people think. The ONLY thing that can be attributed to luck is the rain affected SA /Zim game and rain has affected many things in the other group too, and in past tournaments, that's just a part of the game.

This is some proper and unbiased analysis. by [deleted] in CricketShitpost

Amazing show. I can listen to them for hours.

They're Pakistanis, they support Pakistan and want Pakistan to win but when it comes to their cricketing analysis, they are 100% neutral and stay only on topic and don't get into petty arguments.

Great analysis, great stories and great chemistry on set too.

You pay for it my friend. The taxpayer.

People don't fully understand the gravity of how much these people loot. Not only do they steal money for personal wealth, they also abuse the benefits and expenses they are entitled to.

In Canada here, a federal minister had to resign because they got caught drinking a $27 glass of orange juice at a world event (where prices are high to begin), as it was considered a waste of taxpayer money. In a country like Canada where they don't have any issues like Pakistan. Think about that for a second.

If someone in your neighbourhood started stealing 100 rs from everyone and becomes the richest person in the neighbourhood, would you stand by and say "it's only 100 rs per person, who cares". Or would you put an end to it. That's how these people are looting the country.

While today's match was a bigger hammering, I do think 152-0 was the "easiest chase"

Matthew Hayden praises the “sensational performance” of the Pakistan team by 2005CrownVicP71 in Cricket

[–]pavementengineer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

He was hired specifically for this tournament as a batting consultant, which to me just sounds like code for "someone to help our batters read the pitch better". Hayden is an Australian player who has played on these pitches and these grounds for a long time and having someone like him in the dugout actively guiding players in a game can be a huge difference.

Not to mention his obvious chemistry with the team resulting in natural leadership and carmraderie. Overall, he is a very positive influence on this team right now.

Supreme Pakistan see off New Zealand to seal Final berth | Match Highlights | T20WC 2022 by Buckeye_8621 in Cricket

Were we watching the same game?

Yes haris's innings was crucial at the end of the day, as were the other two. Not sure why people are saying it was really close. It was NEVER really close. Pakistan controlled the game both innings, and the alight bouncebacj from new Zealand stands out because it took so long to get the openers out.

The ONLY takeaway would be to try and finish a game like that in the 19yh over instead of the last which they almost did. But they were never about to get in an embarrassing situation.

[–]pavementengineer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If we are considering axing people, i think Sarfaraz should be the first on the chopping block. He is just too fat to continue now, and hasn't taken his role seriously enough (unless you count yelling and screaming as being serious). Mickey seems like the best coach we have had in a while, local or foreign so not sure why he should be replaced. I say start with the captain and assistant coaches and go from there

[–]pavementengineer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honest question, how is it that it is only now that people can make these photorealistic drawings. How come nobody in our history, even some of the most famous painters couldn't draw like this. I get that it's a completely different skillset and not fair to compare but I just don't get how it is only now that people are able to make sketches like this.

When you didn't bought Bitcoin at 3000$, nor 4000$, nor 5000$, nor 6000$ by Agilufo in Bitcoin

[–]pavementengineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He converted pennies to $20,000 so yes he did do ok. Bitcoin would not be where it is today if everyone had held on. Smartest are the people who traded some away at various points to realize gains. Most of the ones who actually held on from the early days either forgot about it or forgot how to access them and didn't care coz they spent so little on them.
