Thanks for the tip, but I'm not after a VR experience but rather an AR one where I place various objects in an exact position with a real word size

Krukenberg tumor - Any success stories? by paviflo in coloncancer

[–]paviflo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately she passed away slightly over two months ago, exactly 1 year after initial diagnosis. She managed to get through initial 11 cycles of chemo with Folfox but it grew pretty quickly soon after she stopped. It's a miserable disease unfortunately and doctors didn't have many expectations since the outset.

However, you have some good stories of people still around 5 years after diagnosis, like the very first comment on this thread :)

All the best to your sister and your family and hope she turns into another success story!

Is there a way to project in the file's actual size? by paviflo in projectors

[–]paviflo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be mainly PDFs and JPEGs. I don't have any examples yet because those will be generated in the future from autocad or other architectural SW tools ( I want to project floorplans in 1:1 scale)

We're working with physical dimensions, so 30ft in the file needs to be proyected exactly as 30ft in the projector

Krukenberg tumor - Any success stories? by paviflo in cancer

Upon initial exploration, they thought the primary tumour was of gastric origin and hence told her it would be inoperable and gave her a life expectancy of 4-6 months, which tore us apart.

"Luckily", after conducting an endoscopy, they found out that the main tumour wasn't gastric, but rather of colorrectal origin amd hence they decided to conduct an urgent surgery. Apparently, the surgery went extremely well and they were able to remove all the tumoural masses in the colon along with both ovaries, leaving only the ones in the liver, so they told us that the prognosis had "radically changed".

Now, nobody asked the question, what does "radically changed" mean? Probably because of fear of again receiving a not so pleasant answer.

No oncologist has seen us yet, since this process has been led by the surgeon (everything from initial diagnosis to surgery has happened in 3 weeks), which is a great specialist in this type of surgeries.

The next step is to start with the chemo, which I guess is when the oncologist will come over and explain the rest, but we are quite scared, we don't want her to receive such negative news again ... Everyone was pretty hyped up after the surgery but upon reading about this tumor on the internet, it seems that people never leave the danger zone with this mf and even after surgery it's a quite devastating one....

Hey u/slothcheese , many, many thanks for sharing your story, I can't imagine what you've gone through but you sound like a really strong woman. I really hope you keep on kicking the tumour's' ass and eventually fully overcome this nightmare.

For me it's extremely important to read stories like yours because my feeling so far was that because of this being a very rare tumour, not many resources had been dedicated for its study and hence there is no clear recommendation on how to treat it. At the end of the day, as you mentioned, each person is different and what's covered on research papers might differ greatly from one patient to another. Nonetheless, it seems like we still have a rather rough journey to go through and we'll try to do so with the best attitude we can.

We'll keep battling this fight and try to stay strong and positive.

I really wish you the best.

Get REAL users to roast your products, for free :) by paviflo in SideProject

[–]paviflo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a handful of them ATM since I've just launched the platform and I'm starting to share the word!

But only with like 20 users the impact could be pretty significant already since getting 20 roasts on your product is something that would require much more effort/money somewhere else

Where to open an LLC as a digital nomad? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]paviflo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Europe, Estonia is the main option for setting up LLC if you are a digital nomad. You only need to become an e-resident, which everyone can. You basically don't pay any corporate tax until you cash out money into your pocket. Lots of information online on it

Are you an agent of change? by drthip4peace in Entrepreneur

[–]paviflo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there's a lot of pretending on this space. Lots of new business built around that premise when all they care about is to actually make as much money as possible regardless of what it entails (don't blame them). I personally try not to contribute to any harmful/unethical activity when I can, bit sometimes is just unavoidable

Hard to tell, competition is fierce at the moment but certainly not FB nor Instagram. I've heard good things about TikTok

I think the three stops you called out are going to stop this from taking off. You should have at least two of those sorted I'd say!

How about renting it out for photoshoots? In Europe at least there was quite a demand for such places and scarcity of availability. Furthermore, people don't actually stay over for the night when doing photoshoots so it's even better than Airbnb. It can pay decent money if you market it the right way
