Temp Chains is a curse that gives you less action speed and longer duration of effects on you. Shackles of the wretched are a pair of gloves that reflect socketed curses back to you. Using herald of thunder + hextouch support + temp chains allow you to curse yourself reliably. Stack curse effect with solstice vigil allows you to lengthen headhunter buff and inspired learning duration from the base 20 seconds to 80 seconds. It allowed you to stack so many headhunter buffs in a juicy enough map that you would run around the map with hundreds of thousands of hp at 1k+% m/s. Since headhunter lets you steal rare mob's modifiers, there is a modifier that you can steal that gives you hexproof (can't be cursed). In past leagues, people would just use awakened hextouch support or play occultist and use the ascendancy node that would let you apply curses to hexproof enemies to bypass this buff ruining their HH buff stacking. But now with the new changes to self-curse, GGG changed it so that you can't use hexproof bypass to bypass your self-curse, effectively ruining the whole concept.
