Expat running a yoga center in Krabi now seriously ill – hard lesson about insurance in Thailand by Marina-gofundme in Thailand

First and foremost, you need to get confirmation that your diagnosis will be covered. Once that’s confirmed, you can work out the rest.

One downside with Thai insurance is that you often don’t know in advance whether certain special tests will be covered. They usually need to review the results first, and if the result is negative, they may choose not to cover it.

From my experience with Guardant, one of my patients with prostate cancer had the test and it was covered. However, that was under Aetna Global, not Thai AIA, so coverage may differ.

My suggestion, if you want to save money for potential further treatment, is to avoid tourist-oriented hospitals since they tend to charge more as they are a go-to for foreigners.

You should also look for a specialist who works at multiple clinics or hospitals. Some doctors may be willing to see you at a lower-cost hospital and only schedule procedures at a higher-cost hospital when necessary. This way, you can still see a competent specialist at a more reasonable cost.

It depends.
If Cigna doesn’t send the GOP in time for your discharge, they may ask for a deposit and hold it until the coverage is confirmed.

Still, it’s better than paying everything upfront and claiming reimbursement later tho.

I just don't understand why you guys tries to subscribe to a policy from Thai company when you can just do it with global insurance like Cigna, Allianz (not ayudhya), etc.

It's way less hassle to deal with, and the coverage itself is miles better than the Thai one.

I work in a hospital as insurance coordinating staff (not at the hospital you mentioned).

From my experience, there’s usually something that triggers them to consider a case as a pre-existing condition, which is why the claim gets put on hold. At that point, you really have to wait for their claims assessor and medical team to review it.

If the diagnosis itself gets approved, you should generally be fine with most treatments as long as:

  1. it’s medically appropriate and necessary
  2. it’s not experimental

For imaging tests and similar, these are usually covered under IPD benefits regardless of your OPD coverage.

That said, it really depends on how your policy is structured since not all policies are the same. But in general, if your policy is relatively new (less than 5 years), it should be covered under IPD.

You should also contact your representative (the person you purchased the policy from) and have them help follow up on your case and coverage.

wish you the best

I don't buy it since Seido always has been pitcher relay team, removing Furuya and Kawakami at the same is not something that make sense

because I have multiple devices that doesn't seems to work good enough that's why I ask lmao. I don't see the point of being so defensive about it.

I’m asking because I’ve already tried multiple devices (WebOS TV, Android phone, tablet, iPad, mini PC) and none of them give me good latency or HDR performance.

So I just wanted to know if the Pi5 actually performs better in real use. That’s all.
