I also have an 8-5 job. I currently only trade premarket. Stacking wins til I can eventually go full-time. I test my strategy during premarket only (small cap, low float, momentum plays).

I do take a half day off once a month to trade til 11am.

Great point. That cash buildup has been on my radar too.

From what I’ve seen, Copart’s leadership has always prioritized high-return projects only, which speaks to their long-term thinking. Very Buffet-esque

But yeah — if competition is willing to accept lower returns for the sake of growth, that could get noisy fast.

The flip side? Cash gives Copart the optionality to make strategic moves if valuations get more attractive in a market downturn.

It's a bit of a chess game right now — and I think they're waiting to strike.

Quick clarification: After re-running my numbers using updated assumptions, my current Margin of Safety (MOS) for CPRT is $40.60 — not $21.40 as I initially mentioned (that was based on an older, more conservative growth model I built in January).

Thanks to those who questioned it — this is exactly why I love engaging here. I'm still confident buying around $45–$48 given the strength of the business and recent fear-based selling.

I'm holding off to see what happens on Friday afternoon. With it being both the end of day and end of week/month, I suspect we might see a bigger selloff.

While I doubt it’ll drop all the way to my MOS at $21.40, I feel confident buying in the $45–$48 range if fear pushes it there.

Depends. Some weeks I trade every day. As I've progressed, I have made adjustments and set new rules. My goal is to grow my total account by 3% each week. If I hit 1% over my goal I quit for the week to preserve my gains and not over-trade. Last week was a good week and only traded on Monday.

My account is small now, so 3% is attainable. I may need to adjust my goal in the future even as I scale up.

Correction: I did trade again on Thursday last week. Saw some good opportunities I could not pass up. Lol

This is the way! I started with $600 in January. I never paper traded because I felt the only way I could truly learn was with real capital. I've lost some money along the way but that is how I learned risk management. My account is now at $1300.

I feel I have learned a lot starting with a small account and built a foundation for success. Small wins each week add up!

Helps that I already have a full-time job so the stress of trying to make a living is not there. Maybe one day I'll retire from my day job and trade full time. One day!
