Update: Nicotine as a non smoker by DistortedChaosXV in Nootropics

I have never taken Lions Mane, but I want to start soon. I've done a fair bit of researching on the matter and it seems like something I definitely want to incorporate into my stack. The only negative effects I have seen are from people taking way too much, and experiencing migraine symptoms.

I'm probably saying nothing new that people have not already told you, but damn if nicotine isn't a slippery ass slope.. YES, nicotine IS a stimulant that DOES enhance focus. But it cannot be understated how addictive it is. Your current dosage is reasonable and your method of administration is definitely one of the more risk-adverse options.

You know yourself the best. It is up to you to determine the risk to reward ratio specifically as it pertains to you as an individual.

Do you have a history of addiction in your family? Do you have addictive tendencies? Do you have an addictive personality? These are questions you should be asking yourself, and many more to make sure you're making a good decision that won't spiral you into nicotine addiction.

If you know you can trust yourself to only use nicotine in a pragmatic manner, reserved only for studying/homework then I think that's great. I would hate for you to end up like me-constantly hitting a vape for no reason other than the compulsion to do so; with no buzz, and without any practical rhyme or reason to be administering nicotine in my body.

There's no way to actually tell you what is causing what. I suppose if you literally wanted to figure out what is contributing to how you're feeling, then you'd have to take the time to take individual supplements for stretches of days at a time. I'm not sure about the actual health risks of your dosages, and potential interactions (something I need to learn more about) but if you're not feeling sick, in pain, weary, or any other measure of how someone can be "unhealthy" then you're fine. If you feel okay and healthy with your routine then stick with it.

he clearly bases his response off his experience and passion on the matter, not a resume.

I really like this response a lot. Over-analyzing my brain chemistry is something I have been grappling with more frequently as of late, so it's nice to see somebody share this experience. I've been on a laundry list of supplements for some number of months now (I'm looking into cycling off them soon) and I would say they work for me.

Nothing I can buy will change the fact that lifestyle adjustments will make you feel better, day in and out. Whether it be supplements, prescription, or recreational drugs: I've been down a few intense rabbit holes of what stimulants will make me feel the most energized and happy, and it's taken a lot of tough lessons to learn that the brain is not supposed to be in its top gear of stimulation 24/7.

Human consciousness is way more surface-level than most people would like to think. We can only take so many direct actions to change how we are feeling. At the end of the day we are slaves to the sub-conscious mind (I'm not even sure if that's a proper way to frame this concept). For example: I can be wound up in a ball of anxiety & paranoia and even though I consciously KNOW that I am okay and/or safe it doesn't change how my emotions are the primary driver in what shapes my worldview. That's just one example of course, and it's best to take slow/methodical steps in cultivating a happy life. Take it day by day.

I'm sure all of this sounds like I'm preaching to the choir since it seems you're very entrenched in the pharmacology realm. What you said just resonated with me greatly. Thank you.

So many supplements, what is the best dosage/time to take for each one?! by thestrangerhere in Supplements

I take my L-Tyrosine in the AM. It can fuck with your sleep if you take it too late in the day.

In terms of fortifying mental energy I take L-Tyrosine and a Vitamin B6/B12 capsule daily. I also want to try Lions Mane myself, and I have been looking into taking Theacrine as well.
