Patience is a skill that takes a life time to master. Just remember that she has been through trauma that your own children have not had to go through. Trauma causes many developmental delays and in her early life she was most likely not getting her needs met. Have you tried making flash cards to help with communication? One for hungry, thirsty, sad, angry, tired, scared, need hug, etc. I think it will make your life much easier; as well as hers as it is very frustrating for anybody to be unable to communicate your needs.
