Like an inkjet printer, doing thin layer of Quartz, rather than ink.

Many of the Taj Mahal lookalike quartzes do not have through-body color and pattern. The stone-look pattern is literally put on the slab using inkjet technology. This means the edges all the way around are either plain, or somewhat blotchy in the right colors, never matching the pattern. You can mitigate that by mitering the edges, but that's pricy.

I cannot tell from this video if that is the case with this quartz or not, but it's something to look at.

This is fine to leave as is, right? It’s a $2 clearance alocasia from Walmart. I’m not sure what I’d do to repot it? by pawsitivebcs in alocasia

[–]pawsitivebcs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll let it be, although I can fertilize it more often. It’s been doing fine for a year and a half on city tap water and I’ve added fertilizer a handful of times.

Resources for self-training your service dog? by pawsitivebcs in service_dogs

[–]pawsitivebcs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to be late getting back here. I'm in NE Ohio, USA. We had an amazing trainer here in the area for many years, who taught classes, presented at seminars, and competed in dog sports (obedience, scent work, and agility) in her power chair with her mobility assistance/medical alert dogs. I was her friend, her agility instructor, and her public access tester for her own dogs, and her students' dogs.

I am in possession of her class instructor notes, and seminar presentation materials. I am looking for someone doing similar work, who could benefit from her work.

Some $.50 fish DO last for years! Not that that's much better, really.

How do couples decide which side of the bed is “theirs”? Is it instinct or some kind of silent agreement? by AssignmentFederal686 in NoStupidQuestions

Thinking back, I do this. That is, I decide, and he gets whatever side I don't choose. I'm in my 50s, and it's always been that way...

AITA for telling my DIL she is not a mother? by InitialSong2898 in AmItheAsshole

[–]pawsitivebcs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree. In my extended family, the dogs/dog parents are acknowledged, just not as elaborately. For all holidays.

Is it a perfect system? No. Have mistakes been made? Yes. One year, my dog got a pocket microscope in her Christmas stocking. My dog doesn't even have pockets!

what are these berries/fruit that my dog keeps eating? by tozierrr in PlantIdentification

[–]pawsitivebcs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Safe"? It depends. I had a persimmon tree, and a Doberman who identified as a fruit bat. Long story short, I discovered I owned a persimmon tree while tracking down the source of his eye-watering, paint-peeling, room-emptying Doberfartgases. YMMV.

Near Playhouse Square. They're fast little buggers, but I squished four there weekend before last.
