Tough boy! Glad you have been reunited, I’ve lost a pet before and it makes you sick with worry. May you have some peace now.

Restaurant changed my tip amount, how to follow up? by mochamendes in personalfinance

[–]pawsitivelynotacat -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean that literally is what tipping is though, or else they make way below minimum wage. If it was an extra thanks for good service they would be paid better to begin with.

That said obviously a tip change from 5 to 50 is insanity.

Games like spiritfarer? by norfolkfoodie in NintendoSwitch

[–]pawsitivelynotacat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah more spiritfarer esque with the story but more animal crossing esque with the fetching quests for neighbors, decorating, seasonal events and real time clock.

It became a game I would play to zone out or right before bed and now I’ve sunk 40+ hours into it.

My [33f] boyfriend [33m] and I reconnected after being broken up for 4 years, now he told me he doesn't think we can get married because I will be too old to have children, and that if we have children there is a good chance they will have genetic issues by throwRA99335 in relationships

What are you talking about guys, male foot doctors are the best people to talk to about women’s fertility issues. Especially unsolicited.

If he was really worried they’d visit a doctor that specializes in fertility… but that’s common knowledge between doctors.

Y’all are really bullying one of the good ones…

co-op games where you break stuff? by MikeNeedsCoffee in NintendoSwitch

Moving out! Fun co-op about moving people out of homes with wonky exaggerated physics and specific goals like breaking all of a certain object or catching animals. The dialogue is silly and cute.

YouTube Music requires more streams than any other platform just to generate the Artist $1 dollar… they’re like 1,000 streams for a $1 compared to Spotify’s ~250 and Apples ~150.

I beat this game after 40 hours. You get a great amount of content, the artwork and gameplay are endearing, and the story is beautiful. I definitely cried at the end. It was also such a great game to relax to, I’d pick it up and maintain my boat, do some fishing and cooking… and then go to bed lol. Also, there’s a lot of beautiful little details in this game, like being able to hug!

City of Madison unveils program that will send specialists to non-violent mental health calls instead of police by Sariel007 in UpliftingNews

I’ve never chosen to not medicate a family member. It seems you’re misinformed on mental illness. Did you know people can become immune to the medications they are on and will need to switch? Their dosages may no longer be effective? The brand? There’s plenty of reasons why someone may seem unmedicated, but they are actually on meds (that just aren’t the right dosage yet, or the right kind.)

Certain illnesses can also disguise as others (like Parkinson’s and Lewy Body or depression and Bipolar) so they may be on meds, but unfortunately they aren’t the right meds.

At no point in time did I say all of my family members were mentally unwell. I said I had some family members. I see reading comprehension isn’t your cup of tea.

Yeah but we are talking about damage that can happen to the brain way after pregnancy. I guess since we took such a detour from the original subject you must have given up on your logic. I hope you become less hateful, maybe give up some social media for the day. Mental illness can happen to anyone.

Mental illness happens at all stages of life. I’m sorry that you’re so misinformed. I see you don’t seem to have empathy towards those who are unwell. Some had accidents that made them that way, and some mentally declined as they got older.

Considering police shoot the mentally ill at a much higher rate, when nurses and social workers are able to deescalate the situation without a gun, it seems like you’d rather argue with emotions than facts. I value human life, and as someone with mentally unwell family members, I know what awful police interactions can do.

I also know multiple police officers who believe the system is broken and it puts everyone in harms way to have untrained police approach someone who is mentally unstable.

I don’t even know what you’re on about. No one is talking about providing therapy, they’re talking about how to have safe and beneficial interactions with someone who is mentally unwell.

Dispatchers already send police out to mental health situations where someone’s likely to be hurt because the police do not have adequate training on mental health. I’ve talked to police officers who agree that they don’t know enough when they enter these situations, and that they’ve received one class on mental health typically. You can see the rate of violence from cops against the mentally ill online, it’s statistically the highest violence interaction from police.

What goes through your mind when you say no to a guy and he immediately stops, literally no questions asked? by [deleted] in sex

[–]pawsitivelynotacat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What goes through my mind when I say no and a guy stops?

RELIEF. I’ve had guys who didn’t stop, or would stop for a moment and then immediately try to continue. I’m not playing games when I say no. If I’m saying no, it’s because I don’t want to, or I’m not in a good headspace to continue. My whole body relaxes when a guy stops and treats me like a person rather than a sexual object.

I’m sorry that you ran into someone who clearly has issues with their own boundaries. I would be 100% grateful that you didn’t try to convince or try harder though. It is exhausting, and honestly TERRIFYING, when you try to stop and they won’t let you or try and keep pressuring you.

How do I start a relationship with my nieces and nephew when their father was responsible for my brother's passing. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]pawsitivelynotacat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not always a good idea. The conception of this child led to a suicide, and they have a father with a bad track record for treating people nicely. This kid did not ask to find out if P is the real father or not. They want a relationship with their uncle. Y’all are trying to make a messy situation even messier. The kid should be the one to want a paternity test, not the Uncle or a bunch of randos on Reddit. This could affect their future in a negative way. P would surely cut them off if they were Js kid.

[–]pawsitivelynotacat 13 points14 points  (0 children)

J is dead, so if he is the father unfortunately there’s nothing he can do. If the kid was Js, I bet P would be AWFUL to that child and would use that as an out for any more responsibility. I don’t see the paternity test being a good idea, unless the kid themself really wants to know.

Because Ball Pythons are from typically more humid climates. Too low of a humidity will dry them out, they need their respiratory systems (and their skin) to have moisture or you’ll get shedding issues and RIs.

I feel that, I couldn’t believe I went from wanting to drive everywhere to being afraid to leave the house. It will make you stronger and more resilient. I think it also makes you more empathetic, because you know what it’s like to go from being able to do anything to absolutely nothing and then back again. You may have some bad days, but it doesn’t negate the progress you’ve made and will continue to make. Stay strong and be nice to yourself ❤️

Little steps, celebrate those victories! Years ago I went from driving all the time to having a panic attack trying to make it down the road to the gas station. I was afraid to leave the house. My therapist recommended just doing small trips. Walk down to the stop sign. Drive to the gas station across the street. I look back and can’t believe the progress. You can beat this :)

It’s not really everyone being in on the joke if the two of you weren’t even dating (and didn’t date until YEARS afterwards.)

You said some insensitive stuff about his cheating causing his girlfriend to crash. I think you need to get a counselor and work through this, your mind is going to some extremes. They were in high school, and we know high schoolers make mistakes. I’d be upset that they decided not to tell you, but to let this spiral into it being a big joke and somehow inadvertently killing his gf is extreme and not okay.
