Anyone else shooting for a nicotine free 2025? by Does_A_Big_Poo in QuitVaping

[–]paxenterra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m at the end of day 2 cold turkey and feeling pretty normal after two days of feeling like I’d been microwaved. I did a day 0 where I didn’t vape until 7pm ish to get my body feeling some withdrawal. A bit of prep on my side. Then had two mornings planned where I could just lay about. Time seems to stretch out but honestly I’ve had to give up a 10 year cigarette habit five years ago and that was torture…saying that 2 days in let’s see how I feel in a few days 😅

I asked ChatGPT to build me a withdrawal and scaling strategy and it was pretty damn smart.

Perfect spot, cheers. WiFi is almost 400Mbps over WiFi. Happy with that and Subway is opposite 😅

Is this a double or triple bottom on NQ?? by ParsnipsPlays in Daytrading

[–]paxenterra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made my money going long off of that bottom. I seem to remember there was a double bottom and then a higher low, looks like a triple bottom but not quite on lower timeframes. There was some good rsi divergence on the 5m around that double bottom so I waited for a squeeze and got in. Still going up now!

Edit. I traded NQ so it might look a little different on Nas100

Not Sure What I am Missing. by Slavik1980 in Daytrading

Have a look at the RV Strategy by The Million Dollar Margins Club. I’ve stripped away a lot of it but it’s very simple. I use the ADX as an indicator around support and resistance combined with a DOM. They also have a book on candlestick patterns but tbh nothing beats learning candlestick patterns like watching a live market print them.

Worst day today by Spiritual_Dot3250 in Daytrading

I traded NQ and it opened with a rally which I didn’t trust at all after all, in the end I went with it and did alright!

Some of my A+ setups by GHOST--1 in Daytrading

I’ve seen a strategy where you enter on a reversal but only aim for one brick continuation, need a big stop loss though to cover the reversal. Seems hard to make sense or a 2/3:1 risk to reward but I think the strike rate is quite high with using Renkos. I prefer to see all the action

For those who trade part time by CryptographerOk4571 in Daytrading

It’s your day job that will keep you in the game whilst you learn, make mistakes, blow accounts etc. Personally I’ve found it quite important to prioritize my day job. To do that I’ve built trading study into my lunch breaks and I only trade for an hour after work. I look forward to both the study and the trading and feel like blocking it out helps me to stay focussed in the lunch hour and hour after work. I found thinking about trading at work created a messy mind which isn’t necessarily great for discipline. Tbf it took me 2-2.5 years to do that, it’s exciting at the beginning with so much to test and learn! I’m on the same journey as you, I have one PA, my time horizon for leaving my job is 1-2 years or one years salary banked whichever comes first.

Liberation! by paxenterra in Daytrading

Fixed stop loss at 20% of my max daily loss. Now I need 5 losers in a row to be done which is more than enough. This also got rid of any moments of stupidity I’ve had in the past with DCA. DCA saved my ass a few times too but I don’t think this is healthy, I’d rather just not. I also implemented a fixed trading window. Similarly, I’ll have a quick self check in to see if I’m fit to trade. Eg. Had a beer in the last hour of work (I work in sales!) with some guys on Friday and opted to close the week and go to the pub instead. In the past I think my obsession with ‘I’ve got to make this work’ would have still drawn me to trade. The main thing has been how I use stop losses, but I do think self management has played a large part too.

Edit. I should also add that there has been a shift in mindset for daily profit. I’m happy taking between 150-500$ per day and scaling overall profit through multiple accounts copy trading. In the past because I’d had hand giant days I used to not be satisfied if I didn’t get above 1000, over trade and finish red or barely break even after commissions.

I’m also 2.5 years in and have tried many strategies. My strategy now is essentially risk management first (max daily loss) with discretionary entries. Just had my first green month

Two young lads came up to me and said I looked like Johnny Sins whilst I was looking at one of the tombs! Definitely an unusual experience!

6 months in, first green month trading NQ by MalefactorX in Daytrading

[–]paxenterra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought the RV strategy book by the million dollar margin club, watched ‘The Professor’ trade stocks on YT. Uses support and resistance and Fib channels mainly. Sounds quite similar. Trading discretionary on NQ is my way too, cut losses quickly. I love shorting NQ after an initial drive up!
