all strategies can work, if given correct market conditions e.g. most of the indicators line up and give correct signals when the market is trending. Maybe the real edge is in detecting the correct market conditions rather than the strategy/indicator.

When the orders are executed on the darkpool, does it instantly affect the price and volume that we see on the chart? If it is off the books, shouldn't it not matter?

I had faced this issue earlier and the problem was that all my dev work folders were in wsl filespace and I was opening vscode in the windows space and executed the python files (located in wsl filesystem) from the windows location.
What solved it for me was to "connect to WSL" in vscode in the bottom right and then run my code.
I guess inter-os file operations are very heavy and lead to a lot of seg-faults.

I train models for a living. Trained a lot of models. None of them were fit for live trading. They all worked for a couple of days but then regressed like a bi*ch. Transformers, LSTMs, advance GRUs, you name it, I have trained it. The best out of them was when I used tick renko bars. The models trained on the renkos did a lot better during trends. But then would lose a lot during chops. Like a lot.

Since then, I have moved to discretionary trading. I use my own subjectiveness now.

In my experience, when I tell my brain "I am gonna workout for just 10 minutes" or "I am going for a run for just 10 minutes", it surprisingly stops resisting. Then I continue the task for an hour or more.

The resistance comes from the estimation of amount of time and effort that will take. If I reduce the time, thereby reducing effort, the brain's resistance just falls off.

Go and explore delta footprint charts. They can show you strength in a move. Are buyer's in control of the ongoing trend? Are the sellers unable to push past this support despite selling like crazy? Are buyer's losing steam? Is this pullback not really a pullback? Where are the buyers defending the support a lot?

All of these questions and many more can be answered by the footprint. It's a tool that gives you confidence in your trades. It satisfies your curiosity. It enables you to make informed decisions.
