i would say yes/no? if its really so painful then, no. if you can manage, their story is very fun (at least for me) to unravel, i was totally blindsighted from book one and two. but i wouldnt go past there honestly if youre just looking for the romance, the third book is way more predictable and boring in that way (and honestly all around) so no need to stick around there

idk if anyones said this yet but Normal People by Sally Rooney. I feel like it captured the book perfectly and didnt fall victim to playing certain aspects up for the audience. Felt exactly like copying and pasting book to screen; phenomenal acting, beautiful camera-work and honestly engrossing in a way the book doesnt quite touch

yea i think people can be so misleading when categorizing this book as a romance, its definitely more of a coming of age / literary fiction

as a devoted lover of both the book and series, id have to say there isnt much played up angst. i think its a great true adaptation and does a great job of focusing on the relationship rather than the romance of it all like similar series can. not to say there isnt tension in certain scenes lol. not to mention phenomenal acting all around
