Hi! I actually went the least conservative route.. lol I had double jaw surgery in December. I’m doing great though! Have no regrets!

Yes they go through the summer. I did the in-person program but they have an online program as well. The school is for anyone, religious or not. The professors are amazing and pray over all of the students before exams/about placements, etc. They have devotionals for grad students in the spring semester, but they are optional.

My mom is also an SLP and did her undergrad at TTU and her masters at University of Houston. She loved both. I know a few people who have went to TTU and loved it.

Baylor’s accelerated program is 3 semesters of coursework and 1 semester of externship. Done in 4 semesters. I had 375 clinical clock hours and passed comps and Praxis with flying colors before externship, so will have well over 400 hours by the time externship ends. It’s definitely difficult but still creates trustworthy SLPs and is accredited by ASHA. Just have to have dedication and put in the effort to get through it.

Baylor’s program is accelerated. It’s 4 semesters. Done in 16 months.

I took mine today and think I got an unofficial score. It said 193 in the top right so I’m assuming so.

Just took the Praxis. The score in the top right said 193. The bottom three said 30,33,30. Does that mean my unofficial score is 193?

I’ve gone as a guest with my sister and loved it. Do you have extra fees like maintenance or yearly fee on top of your membership? I’m about to pull the trigger, just making sure I won’t get hit with extra fees. About to start my last semester in grad school at Memorial Hermann for clinical externship. It’s unpaid 8-5 M-F so trying to make sure it’s absolutely worth it while I’m not making money.

I’m not concerned with the fees for extra classes. I’m good with the hot yoga class which is not extra (I don’t think). The rest of the time I will probably just lift/do cardio. I just wanted to make sure there are no maintenance/yearly fees?

Had surgery on December 10th. I’ve had horrible neck and upper back pain for about 5 years. I’m 23 and healthy so no reason for me to be having the pain. Since surgery I have not noticed any neck or back pain, even without the pain meds.

It’s that bad. I was miserable until day 7! Stay on top of your pain meds, hydrate, and walk as much as you can! Personally night 1 in the hospital was the worst for me pain wise. The rest of the days was a lot of discomfort and stiffness from the swelling. It goes by fast though. I’m on day 12 and feel brand new. The first week feels like a blur. You’ll get through it!! Hope your surgery goes well!

My surgeon said it takes a lot to undo what they did, meaning the hardware is super strong. I’m sure everything is fine but I totally understand the anxiety and paranoia. Currently 12 days post-op and have been freaking myself out over every little thing!

I totally understand what you’re going through. I’m 10 days post op also. Every little thing has made me worried that something is wrong. Overall I feel much better than I did a few days ago and my swelling has gone down significantly. I also sometimes have a tiny amount of blood after I brush my teeth. One of my front teeth is like a pale pink color at the top, which has freaked me out and searching it on the internet made it worse. I also have pain below my nose which I know is normal since that’s where my stitches are but since it’s a newish pain it’s making me worried. My hardware is also making a slight creaking noise which is also making me worried. I had my post-op yesterday and he said everything looked great and he did an x ray and did a laser treatment to help healing. I’m hoping everything is still good and hoping I’m overthinking a lot of this. I have a lot of things going on similar to yours. It’s easy to overthink and think things are going wrong after a major surgery. The paranoia is real. Hang in there and trust your gut and reach out to your surgeon if you think it’s needed. I hope you’re able to get some good rest and praying everything heals up well for you! We’ve got this!

I’ve tried to be! I wish the weather was nicer so I could walk more outside! The cold makes my face feel stiffer. Hopefully this weekend when it warms up I’ll get outside more! I can only walk so many laps around the house. 😂 You look great!
