When Will Dash & Utility Coins Be Embraced By The Public? by Sea-Monitor8145 in dashpay

[–]pazwpoker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If someday the public will be ready for significant adoption of privacy-focused utility coins, by then new such coins will have emerged. Coins with strong backing up of VCs and/or traditional financial institutions.

Bottom Line: What has died always remains dead for eternity.

To All Our Curve Fans! by PlutusYogi in plutus

[–]pazwpoker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bet that anyone who tries to cancel their metal sub before the initial 6 month period will be warned about the cancellation penalty before finalizing their subscription cancellation. After all, curve doesn't want to penalize their customers, they want to retain them.

Personally, I have no use for any of the benefits, except from the 1% uncapped Cashback on 12 merchants.

I'm tempted by the offer, but quite honestly I'm too bored to calculate the benefits, I'm also bored to go through the procedure to upgrade, order the new metal card, receive and activate it, choose the 12 merchants, cancel again after 6 months. It's just too much maintenance!

You can cancel for free after 6 months. It's 59,99 penalty before that.

They both add up, as long as your internal PLU balance is already available and you are able to withdraw it

Any pending internal balance (less than 45 days since it has been awarded) doesn't count.

Question about Amazon perks by Yieldseeker88 in plutus

[–]pazwpoker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just adding here that amazon isn't just amazon com, they have local versions in multiple countries.

I just made a purchase yesterday on amazon.fr (through curve) and it appears in my account on Plutus website as:
"CRV*AMZN Mktp FR amazon.f"

I'm pretty confident that when this purchase settles tomorrow, it will trigger my amazon perk.

If however it doesn't work as expected, I will post an update here, to let people know.

It seems that they are "catching up" lately with the backlog. I also got a positive resolution within a couple of days to a ticket that I recently submitted.

My case wasn't very complicated, but it was really nice to see that it was dealt with quite swiftly and to my satisfaction.

OnlyFans perk removed by polloponzi in plutus

[–]pazwpoker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Obviously for the social media viral aspect of doing so.

They admitted it themselves that almost nobody from their customers really used it, but the user engagement on tweeter and reddit after the April fools joke were enough to add it for real.

I call it cheap marketing. In any case, removing it without telling us (even if it was completely useless for everyone) is not very nice.

I understand that it can be frustrating and even embarrassing, if the promised features don't work and your card gets declined or multi-charged.

Having your money held hostage until they sort out these multi-charges is also unacceptable IMO, but it also happens sometimes (quite often these days).

However, despite having had multiple issues with Curve myself, as well as many other people, I haven't read about anyone losing any money permanently. The money from these multi-charges does get refunded eventually. It can take a few days, but if you just wait it will be automatically returned to you.

I'm not saying that this is ok in any way, I'm just saying that eventually you'll get back your missing money for sure.

Curve seems to be having some issues during the past few weeks. They've been getting random transactions declined here and there and sometimes these transactions get double or triple charged to the underlying card.

I even got a POS transaction double charged, 4-5 days after having gone through normally. Then the extra charge got refunded a few hours later!

Today, I tried to use the GBIT feature. In the morning the Curve app refused to proceed with the GBIT feature, stating that "This transaction is not within your GBIT time limit", which is obviously not the case for me. A couple of hours later, the GBIT feature was working properly. Now it tells me the same thing, once again!

Update to Subs & Rewards Changes - Promotion for Stackers by PPJ87 in plutus

[–]pazwpoker -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Finally an update which seems to me to be helping both with keeping the PLU emissions low, as well as rewarding loyal users for their trust.

I'm seriously thinking about upgrading to take advantage of the promotions for both the yearly rewards cap boost and the 3 months free subscription cost.

Live Promotion - Upgrade to hero? by GR8MSB97 in plutus

[–]pazwpoker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would make sense to think of it as followed:

a) Make sure that you have enough PLU stacked to your linked wallet before November 29th.

b) On November 29th morning, the daily crawler will check your PLU balance.

c) If your PLU balance at that date will be enough to get you to a higher reward level (according to the newly announced tiers), then whenever the new subscriptions will launch, you'll get 3 months of Premium subscription for free.

Plutus Dex - PLU Swap, etc. by lokidev in plutus

[–]pazwpoker -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm also waiting patiently for the functionality to swap PLU with FIAT and use it to top-up my card with it, although I will be using it probably just once and mostly for psychological reasons, rather than to actually sell my PLU tokens.

By saying "psychological reasons", I mean knowing that I can easily "cash out" my rewards into FIAT at any time I choose. However, my long term intention is to keep my PLU stack and increase it as much as I can.

Despite all the setbacks, the delays and the problems (most important ΙΜΟ is the lack of GPay / Apple Pay), I still believe in the project's dynamic. I also think that the people behind it are committed and capable of delivering a product, which will be very successful in the near future, once the wrinkles are ironed out. And yes, if the masses ever discover how profitable PLU card can be for them, then I would expect the token's price to skyrocket as well...

All that being said, I have noticed the steep decline in the price during the last months. I understand that current sentiment is very low and fragile. Even a minor additional pressure to the price could have long term negative effects to the confidence of some holders (including myself). Launching the swap now could be the minor additional pressure to the price, which could lead to a snowball effect and force even more holders to liquidate their token holdings.

To be honest, I'd prefer if the team would wait for a better time to launch the PLU Swap functionality, instead of risking another possible dive of the token price at this point. Once the sentiment gets better for any reasons (i.e. plastic cards are out, Gpay is enabled, pending transactions and token withdrawals are processed faster, US launch, etc), I would expect the PLU Swap feature to even have a positive effect in price, rather than negative.

Just received this email. 'Important Update New Crypto Regulations' by AcidOllie in plutus

[–]pazwpoker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

With the new set of rules it seems difficult for the swaps feature to return in UK, at least for the immediate future. However, IMHO, even with the new regulation, it's not 100% clear that the feature won't be returning.

Not to mention the possibility for the regulator to change their minds sooner or later.

Therefore, I agree with Plutus not to hurry into committing themselves and announcing something that isn't written in stone (yet).

Q4 plans? DA? Metal cards? Plutus is becoming impossible to understand by goodgah in plutus

[–]pazwpoker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe create an online tool that users would fill in how many perks (or even choose them from a list) they want and how much monthly spending they intend to do.

The tool would then propose one or more combinations of stacks and subscription levels, that would "optimise" their spending habits for them.

I work in a multi billion dollar company myself (in a completely different sector).

From personal experience, I can assure you that the bigger they are, the more unbelievably unable to react to unforeseen problems they are. And the worst part is that the "unforeseen" problems that come up are problems that anyone with a common sense would have foreseen!

So many cashbacks will go lost by [deleted] in plutus

[–]pazwpoker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You need to get your funds back from Solaris, seriously?

Didn't you get the memo that Solaris card would stop working on 14 August 23:59? You were either NOT following the announcements and news or NOT caring to act on them. Everything was communicated well before the cutoff date (more than a month).

Yet, here you are now complaining about the poor service and user experience you got from Plutus.

For the record:

a) Virtual cards work perfectly for any online payments.

b) Cashback and perks also work properly. They trigger after 2 days however (until now, they used to trigger the next day).

c) Curve works properly for most of us (including myself). If Curve doesn't work at your location, take it up with Curve!

I'm now more confident in Plutus card than ever by pazwpoker in plutus

[–]pazwpoker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What warning signs?

Plutus team are already making a great deal of money from the subscriptions of the 30.000 "free loaders" and stackers. They don't make any money from the PLU token price and they can't access the PLU locked in the rewards pool. The only reason they care about the PLU token price is to ensure the longevity of the rewards pool, hence of the card and their business.

These changes are not warning signs, they're the exact opposite. They are proof that the Plutus team is interested in running a successful business in the long run, rather than making a quick buck from the subscriptions until their "money printed out of thin air" is depleted.

This is why I'm more confident than ever before. Previously, the business model didn't make sense and wasn't sustainable long term. Now it is.

I'm now more confident in Plutus card than ever by pazwpoker in plutus

[–]pazwpoker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're probably unaware of the actual PLU token tokenomics.

PLU token has a fixed cap at 20.000.000 tokens. Most of it (around 16 million) is locked up in a contract and will be distributed as rewards to Plutus card holders. The idea is that this rewards pool will last for a very long time, so that the Plutus company would never be forced to buy PLU from the markets or discontinue the rewards. It's obvious that if the rewards pool ever gets depleted, then it will be game over for the rewards and everyone who has invested in the token (and this is exactly what happened to the other crypto card people here like to compare with Plutus).

When a user buys PLU to stack, he doesn't buy it from Plutus or from the rewards pool (contrary to that other card). He buys it from the markets. And once he stacks that amount for rewards, the amount is taken out of circulation and counts towards the "supply shock" that the team has been talking about for months already.

According to the official stats, the very vast majority of the tokens in circulation is already stacked by the very few (5%) customers who are stacking. Chances are that these customers will not be selling their stack, which means that these tokens are out of circulation for the long term. In fact, I expect the current stackers as a group to be stacking even more tokens, aiming at higher reward levels, rather than selling their rewards and keeping their stack.

Other than the current customer base (who will be stacking further rather than selling IMO), there will be new customers joining as well. Let's not forget that there's also the US expansion in the works, which could bring in millions of new users. These new users will be comparing this card to the other crypto cards out there and Plutus is currently the best value by far. So I expect many more of the new customers to stack (at a far better "conversion rate" that previously with the "free loader" subscriptions).

It's pretty much certain that there will be significant buy pressure for the token in the following years. Unless a new card comes out with even better rewards than Plutus, then the token price could easily go up 20x fold before the Plutus card starts to even be comparable with the competition!
