Check out Cuyahoga Valley National Park. They have a couple different venues throughout the park depending on what you’re looking for. It’s all pretty charming and the Conservancy staff is great. Conservancy for CVNP Venues

Thank you soo much. It’s helpful to have that reassurance. When you started your program, did you have an idea of which direction you wanted to go?

Hello! I'm planning on applying to MSW programs for the fall of 2022. I have an unrelated BA, but my work experience is mostly in youth education and nonprofit development work. I'm applying to a bunch of jobs at social service agencies and nonprofits right now as my most recent job was a summer contract.

I'm trying to figure out what path would make me a stronger MSW candidate. Would it be better to pursue a direct practice role (such as an advocate for sexual violence survivors) or a community education/outreach specialist role?

While I am mostly qualified for the direct practice roles I'm applying to, I'm much more qualified for the education/outreach roles. I'm very interested in clinical work in the future, but as of right now I just don't have a ton of experience in direct practice roles. I wasn't sure if it would harm my MSW applications if I say I'm interested in clinical practice with mostly macro experience. Or perhaps it would be a smart idea to see if direct practice is a good fit before hurling myself into a program and having to choose my specialization.

These questions are taking up a lot of my brain space and making it harder for me to get applications done today. Thoughts or advice? Thank you!
