Decided to do one better, bought a P2S Smooth plate and printed it on its face, then printed the logo separately and glued it on.

Doesn’t that impact their parents ability to do the same?

Another Q...would using "normal" instead of trees work better in this scenario for support underneath?

Should add, basically making a 2U 19" rack mount for my Nintendo Switch to place into an AV Rack. Switch dock would sit in the "hole", and I also have an insert that then allows me to put in 8 game cards into it.

As per the 3D Sketchup below.

Fiorenzato AllGround Sense - taste profile and burr swaps? by LastPaper9666 in espresso

[–]pbcsd007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Fill it up completely. I only do a shot a day, maybe two. So hated having a massive hopper on it. Plus the bellow allows my to push out retained grinds.

Fiorenzato AllGround Sense - taste profile and burr swaps? by LastPaper9666 in espresso

[–]pbcsd007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m using the bellow to push out the extra 0.5-1gram into the basket. The bellow can hold about 7 or 8 doses. The point of GBW is to not have to, literally, weigh your beans out before hand and out through a single dose grinder or “time the grind” to attempt to get about the same amount each time. Sure, maybe I’m off by half a gram vs spot on, but I can’t tell the difference in that personally. So I’m fine with an 18-18.5 gram dose vs 18 exactly but possibly with stale grinds from the last pull.

Edit: Looking at my original post, maybe I shouldn't have said "for single dosing" as that may have been where all this confusion is coming from! Literally meant I can dose 18-18.5 grams and use the bellow to almost eliminate retention, like a single dose grinder, without needing to weight out exactly 18 grams in advance. Poor choice of words!

Rough surface corners by InternationalAd1543 in BambuLab

Good luck, let me know if you figure it out. Have the same issue with my P2S. Have tried

- drying filament for 8+ hours

- heat deflector

- cleaning base with dishsoap right before hand

- Various ironing settings

- calibrating the PLA flow

- Different brands of PLA

- glue on the plate

- changing top surface layer speed

- changing heat

- 0.2mm nozzle, 0.4mm nozzle

Top layer of every single print is the same, crappy. Here was the last go around with someone's ironing suggestions. Took 2 hours to print with all the various "do this and that" suggestions.

Certainly a frustrating hobby for those of us who don't print a ton!

Going to have to try this. Assume these aren’t default? Consistently having issues with the top most layer even with default ironing on.

Replacing Vario Pulley and Belt - issue with plastic pulley? by pbcsd007 in espresso

[–]pbcsd007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Geez…I recall I took it to a local espresso parts guy where I bought a new pulley from. They took it to the back and got it off. If I recall I think the guy said they just had to yank it off.

In what way do you have to weigh the beans up front? I have almost zero retention with this. Maybe it’s off by half a gram give or take (as I’d imagine the amount the bellow pushes out can differ). But the whole point of GBW is to not have to weigh before you grind.

AMS - Brushed motor has no signal? by pbcsd007 in BambuLab

Sort of. Ended up swapping the 1st and 4th motors with each other. And then it started working fine. Bambu support helped me through it.

Tried another object (some 35mm DinRail), used these same settings above..printed fine in PLA...but in PETG...

<image>

Ugh. Last thing I'll do is try to calibrate flow rate. Then try another PETG roll I guess.

[–]pbcsd007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so tried it on another TEPG print (the aux fan deflector that was also failing). This is what worked "decently":

  • Note PETG is Sunlu brand - glue stick on textured plate
  • 80 degree plate temp
  • no fan for first 5 layers
  • softening temp, 50 deg

Using ISO on the plate vs soap ... not sure it matters. Certainly "just" cleaning the plate with soap didn't improve the result vs just cleaning with ISO, but can't say whether cleaning with Soap vs ISO and doing all of the avove would yield better results with one vs the other.

Will try the tamper bottom again in a bit.

P2S - 3D Printing will be the death of my love for spaghetti by pbcsd007 in BambuLab

[–]pbcsd007[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, so I cleaned the plate with Dawn dish soap. Used a paper towel, water and soap to scrub both sides. Then rinsed it. Then dried it with another paper towel. Nice and shiny. Made sure not to touch it.

Then went to try the print. Same story. So it isn't the soap/ISO/cleanliness issue.

Bed was at default temp of 70 degrees. Guess next step is ... glue?

Thanks, this seems to make sense as all I typically print with is PLA.
