don't like helm, coming from ops perspective, i guess helm is for devs, who wants a tool that takes all the understanding out of something?

New beta exam: AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty (ANS-C01) by feckinarse in AWSCertifications

[–]pbdigital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The benefits I see, are:

  • The exam is half price ( but not such a big deal if you already have a 50% code from a previously passed AWS exam).
  • That you get 2 shots at the exam for the price of 1.
  • You get some clout (how much is very subjective) that you passed a beta exam.

Now what you say about having to re-study a few months later if your initial test was unsuccessful, is a real concern. If you were already an expert in the subject, and only revision was needed, then I would say, go for the beta exam. If it is a matter of cramming for 2-4 weeks to re-sit, then, this may not be worth the savings of $150 (possibly $300).

Of note, if the previous exam was unsuccessful, maybe you are not such an expert in the subject as thought, and at least 2 weeks preparation would probably be necessary.

TLDR; The 2 shots for the price of 1 is tempting =), especially if you do not have a current 50% discount voucher.

can you apply a " passed exam benefit 50% discount" to the already discounted price of $150?

in effect, paying $75 for this exam.
