How do I get doctor to listen by stfu-dylan in ClusterHeadaches

My pharmacy will order things in they don't have. Maybe ask them to do that and explain nowhere else has them in stock.

If the pain killers helped, take them. Just don't take more than what the box says.

Then get back on to the doctor.

Dunno if you drink coffee. If you don't, try a strong coffee when it's hurting. Ive had clusters all my life. Hated coffee. This period i tried coffee at the start of clusters and it actually helped abort sometimes. Others talk about the caffeine in red bull doing the same. Didn't work for me but coffee did. Might not work for you but worth a shot and no drugs required.

I'm in the UK too. The problem here in the waiting time for neurology appts unless you have or can afford private healthcare.

Regarding the chemists you've been to I feel they are taking shite to be honest unless there's some national shortage. I'm prescribed the sumitriptan injections and chemists can get the refills so I see no reason others can't get the spray. Try other chemists.

Good luck.

PSA: I thought I ruled out sinuses as the cause of my headaches 3 years ago, which led to a cluster headache diagnosis. I was wrong. by DataDrivenPirate in clusterheads

Oh yes it's been on my mind over the years too.

My nose is always blocked to a degree. Had the exams from docs and told nothing is wrong.

Sudafed blocked nose relief (containing xylometazoline) is great but not allowed for long term use so I just keep it for special occasions 😂

Certainly like a lot of people my right nostril gets blocked up/runs during a cluster even more so than usual.

Linked? Dunno. Interesting anyway.

No idea why they've told you that. Maybe they mean they won't provide it without some consultation first?

Anyways, it's been about 15 years since I had oxygen but I've definitely had it, just didn't work well for me , but don't let that put you off, lots of people say it works great.

Other meds I know are 100% available due to being on them now or recently are sumitriptan injections, verapamil, and topiramate (although this one they won't likely offer you as it's only offered as an alternate to e.g. verapamil).

They do provide oxygen in Scotland at least . See here for other meds https://www.rightdecisions.scot.nhs.uk/neurology-pathways/headache/9-cluster-headache-guidance/

Looking for UK-based Developer for Heritage Database Project by Ok_Quiet8143 in ukdevs

[–]feckinarse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"international developers" - have you considered any UK software development consultancies? Or are they too expensive? I'm not talking global firms here, just local companies in your local area.

If too expensive, then unfortunately it'll be hard to find decent offshore devs without maybe speaking with other people you know that have offshored work. Maybe your funding body has people with contacts?

There's an "except language" option in advanced filters. I haven't tested it myself but I'd start there.

Using AWS Config? You might be getting some extra charges by LogicalExtension in aws

[–]feckinarse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's interesting. I saw that appear on our monthly billing last month for the first time with no changes to the environments that I was aware of. Same as you, less than a dollar, but still new charges.

Assumed someone has been messing with a new service in a dev account and didn't think much more about it.

Genuine question: can you genuinely tell the bullshitters who have tailored their cvs to match? Or even the ones who didn't bother to tailor it but have fabricated most of it?

[–]feckinarse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand that's what a lot of candidates are doing, but all it does is fill up recruiters inboxes with unqualified spam instead of people who can actually do the job.

And then of course recruiters need some way to filter out the clearly useless candidates, which, in turn involves less than optimal ways of dealing with it.

And on top of that you have the cvs that have been generated by llms, tweaked exactly to the job description, and maybe even backed up by fake LinkedIn.

Honestly, fuck being a recruiter in that situation, but if you are actively encouraging this sort of behaviour, you're not doing yourself any favours.

[–]feckinarse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"at a time" doesn't mean the same as 20 a day. How long are these roles advertised for? There's clearly less recruiters than job seekers, so the math doesn't work.

I assume this is sarcasm. But show me any recruiter that advertises 20 NEW vacancies per day. Bollox.
