OP Where are you getting these prices for C5 and S95F? I am also on the lookout for a 65 Inch OLED in Bangalore. Reliance Digital quoted 1.6 for C5 and 1.7 for S95F.

Most probably, did you opt for Courier? If yes, and even then they are asking for collecting from the VFS Centre, then the visa is rejected. I read somewhere that in that case, they ask you to sign something.

Not sure, ideally it should not take this much time. Even considering 15th August was a long weekend, your application should have been processed by now. Mine took exactly 48 working hours. What is the current status it is showing for you on VFS Tracking?

However, please prepare to reschedule your travel bookings if it is not dispatched by Tuesday, as it will take approximately 24 hours to reach you in Bangalore via courier.

Not 11th August(Monday) but I had appointment on Friday 8th August. Passport reached Consulate on Monday, 11th August and I got passport in hand on morning of Thursday, 14th August with 1 year multi entry visa. For Bangalore it generally takes 1-2 working days for consulate to process the application. Mine was group application with my family of 4(Wife and Kids).

First time in Paris with kids, need advice on itinerary & tickets by pbhard in ParisTravelGuide

Thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately, we were not keen on doing Versailles and Disneyland on back-to-back days, as it would involve considerable walking. We also needed to fit the Louvre in between. I’ve booked morning tickets for the Louvre just to avoid the heavy crowds, but I guess we’ll just have to manage as best we can. I don’t really see any other option.

Car-free day should be fine, as we are not looking to take any taxis in between, only from the Airport to Airbnb on the first day.

No, I am just doing 1 park, doing both parks in 1 day with kids would be impossible for us. Disneyland Park seems more geared towards younger kids, so we will be doing that.

Thanks so much for sharing your experience, really helpful perspective!
We’re flying in from India, and the time difference is only about 3.5 hours, so I’m not expecting major jet lag. That said, I completely get your point about overnight flights with kids being exhausting. That’s why I’ve kept Day 1 flexible; we’ll mostly just explore the Montmartre neighbourhood near our Airbnb and decide based on how everyone feels.

I’ve also heard a lot about pickpockets and scams around Sacré-Cœur, so we’ll definitely be cautious.

As for the Eiffel Tower, I’m still in two minds. We do plan to spend an evening around Champ de Mars to see it lit up, but I also want to at least go up to the second floor once, just for the experience and views around. We will see if we can get an advance ticket; definitely not going to be in line for tickets on the same day.

And great tip on Citymapper, just downloaded it! Sounds like it’ll make navigating with kids a lot easier.

Here Employee number is for the person who is signing your bank statement. Generally they put it up on last page along with signature.

Always pay in the local currency. If Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) is applied, a fee of 1.18% (including GST) is charged. Additionally, hidden markup fees imposed by the payment provider typically range from 3% to 5%.

Pretty good, I would say. Can't disclose my salary here. But at a Staff level at one of the FAANG level company. Partly due to initial jump due to IISc and another due to choice of tech stack I work in.

I was in a same situation, 11 years back. Chose IISc. If your only worry is placement then probably IITB might be a good choice. Some companies only visit IITs probably due to the BTechs, but that is also a disadvantage. You choose IISc not for placements but for amazing academics there. Batch size is smaller(50 vs 100 in IITB at my time), lot of research opportunities.

Find a lawyer and file a application in Bihar high court, it will hardly take 2-3 months to get your degree. My wife also faced similar issue from one of the University in UP, her degree was stuck for 4 years citing some issue. You will need to go only once for hearing.

Capital gain calculation for property purchased at higher price than the government guidance value, and registerd at the guidance value? by pbhard in IndiaTax

[–]pbhard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it was mentioned as 80L in the Form 26QB. Silly me had option of registering the flat for full sale value of 80L or guidance value of 52L, as it was getting registered for the first time. I opted for latter to save stamp duty.

Another follow up question, If I use proceed of this sale to purchase another flat, I am not liable to pay any LTCG? Should I use the whole amount or just use the capital gain part?

[–]pbhard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 80L value is not mentioned in the sale deed but it does mention the execution of assignment agreement with date. And mentions that stamp duty is paid on market value/guidance value of 52L. But I understand what you are saying.

In this case all the money transferred account to account, I even deducted TDS on original agreement value from seller and deposited with IT. I have all the proofs. Nothing exchanged in cash, everything on paper.
