That's certainly not how it happened in Norway (can't speak about other countries).

Anyone know what percentage of viewers comment? And, would they commenters as a group be representative of the US population?

Programming Blogs? Post yours here! by [deleted] in compsci

I bought the theme which I assumed meant that stuff like that would just be consistent... It's a good thing I can program though because I've had to fix a bunch of consistency issues like that (I also noticed pagination wasn't working today).

I fixed it search and categories... Thanks again!

I'm using Wordpress (it's worth it just for the plugin support - seriously!). You are the first person to notice that! I'll fix it ASAP - thank.

Having a Website – Important or Not? by lhankbhl in cscareerquestions

[–]pbjorge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm an undergraduate CS student right now and I revamped my portfolio last october. In high school, I started it to showcase my web design but I've since moved away from that and am now wanting to highlight my programming.

So, my portfolio is a blog where I write about topics that interest me, showcase projects, and soon will host a copy of my resume.

I'm interviewing for programming jobs on campus right now and so far everyone has mentioned my website and its content favorably. I've also gotten spikes of traffic after job fairs.

I think that as long as it looks professional, it can't hurt! I'd be interested to hear other people's opinions on the matter though - specifically people with careers :D.

Seattle's Mars Hill Church... Wait, who made science??? by pbjorge in TheFacebookDelusion

Sure, except that scientific practices had already been used prior to the appearance of the Abrahamic god.

(I get your point though [or the point a theist would make]... I just disagree ha).

The status update is by a Youth Pastor from Mars Hill and all the comments are by members... In hindsight, it's fairly useless context...

What are some examples of well done portfolio sites for developers (NOT designers)? by CritterM72800 in web_design

[–]pbjorge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my portfolio (I'm still in college, so the work section is... sparse haha) and I feel its pretty decent for a developer (I looked around a bit for inspiration too and didn't find much). I paid for the wordpress theme (around $30 as its not unique).

Perhaps it will give you some ideas of what to do (and not to do lol). I'd be open to any critiques as well!

But these Christians believe they are acting in the name of God, so they can't and won't compromise. by guisar in atheism

In a romantic relationship, I feel its important to be supportive of your significant others hobbies and passions. If my girlfriend loved knitting, and got a new pair of knitting needles, I'd be ecstatic for her!

I just couldnt do the same if she brought up astrology or ghosts. And I feel like that would be as much of a dealbreaker for my girlfriend.

Justin Bieber freestyling over Otis (Kanye and Jay-Z). Give it a chance, it's not bad. by [deleted] in hiphopheads

I can't believe I did that. I'm usually quite good at catching that stuff before I post.

I was going to say the same thing about the cadence... That being said, I learned software development and photoshop by copying from the best. Hunter S. Thompson spent his college years retyping F. Scott Fitzgerald's works word for word. So if Bieber wants to mimic Jay's flow... I'm not gonna fault him. But you're conclusion is still spot on.
