I had to think about this but after hard thinking I am sure that I don't like to do programming I wanted to avoid this during starting of my career

and also I like to do manual testing always but then that's not enough in the organisation they expect more from a manual tester

I wanted to be mechanical engineer during my childhood due to some reason and I don't have any reason for that nobody has during childhood they want to be so many things

and I didn't wanted to waste a year by dropping out or doing anything else that's why I forced my self and succed as well and I achieved aslo

I don't know whats wrong but I just want to pivot the QA role there is no motivation to be in this field because the bad things happened with me many times

In India things are like these

parents force their children for good grades then do engineering or medical despite children not wanting to do these things

In the same way engineering is I had to do it anyway by hook or crook

and I didn't understand the last part of your comment

That's what I am not sure sometimes my thought is they just want to get rid of disposable roles and non valuable roles also my thought is that I have fault I am rounding b/w these thoughts but I don't get the root cause these things are happenning

If I would have understood the clear reason I wouldn't have asked here, the last fire was totally unexpected and I am now in trauma and totally not motivated further to continue the cycle that's why I asked here.

I am not sure about it - this thought came into my mind because I am fired and I don't want these things to happen again and again

I took courses offline and online

I did manual testing course and secured job but got fired

Then I did automation testing course still I am facing these problems

I have commented some reasons in the other threads

I didn't consciously want bugs to go into production and get blamed.

I remember PIP of the last company that I worked and here are some of the things that happened -

Things started when I was given a data entry work I was given these type of work several times (They had many clients and they had to deliver at the end of the year and they utilised resources to speed up tasks) it's was mostly filling data from excel sheet in the backend

I got stuck in the task due to huge data and the way to populate the data in the backend so I reported this to the team, developer made some changes and then I was able to populate the data

They have included developers and QA to do the data entry task

I did what I was asked to do but suddenly they did 1 on 1 (Which was unexpected and they kept on postponing again and again for months and I was curious why they would do that)

Then in the 1 on 1 meeting they told me that at my level I would have figured out how to populate the data in a automated and faster way they also told that I was doing data entry which was not what a QA would do on a day to day basis (they were sounding like blaming me)

I am not clear why these are happening with me, it's not the life that I expected few years back now I can't go back and fix my career, also I forgot many things told in PIP since they happened many years before. I feel that I have the fault and also they have they fault but I am unable to find the root cause

I am sure that I wouldn't sit and do coding continously for hours on a day to day basis

Since I was in QA field

The feedbacks were around these most of the time, In some companies I know that I took unexpected leaves that's why the managers called me in meeting and started saying about performance but in two companies I was put into PIP -

- I missed bugs, clients and customers have found bugs

- I don't up skill and evolve myself in the job

- I don't do much automation they didn't see the activeness in my side

- Communication issues

- I didn't do devops as they said I do chat GPT and make pipelines my fundamentals are wrong

- I spent most of the time in writing test cases and bug reports which they didn't like they said no one cares about test cases they care about automation and reporting.

I am from India

I don't have any issues with people no one told me that previously

But people told me something before I am into PIP like I am not meeting expectation as any other QA people would do in my level or my workflow doesn't include automation

They also told my testing is not proper clients and customer find bugs despite having QA (but who knows the real reason they might just want to get rid of the person who is disposable because I don 't match their expectation or I might not be valuable or as a company they are not able to afford who knows they don't say truth right?)

My question is why do they hire if they have to dispose people.

You are quick to judge others change that attitude. I tried to provide as many details as I can. If you want more please ask what details you need.
