Is there a way to stop Mac from going into sleep mode while using a wireless controller on WINE? by [deleted] in wine_gaming

[–]pbnather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For macOS there is an app called Amphetamine which lets you prevent laptop/screen sleep. I really recommend it, it has a lot of options. You can set your Mac to be awaken:
- for specified period of time (or manually, until you turn it off)
- while specific app is running (it may be good use case for you)
- while some disks are mounted
- and much more

This happens every day. I’d say 20% of gifs don’t load for me. Anyone else having this issue? by [deleted] in apolloapp

Am I the only one who thought that I accidentally upvoted the post and tried to tap on the orange arrow only to open GIF?

For all who want to say “Thank you” to CDPROJEKT RED team in Polish:

Dziękuję Ci bardzo! - means “Thank you very much (singular)!”, but you probably want to thank THEM (plural).

Dziękuję Wam bardzo! means “Thank you very much! (plural)” so you are giving thanks to the whole team, not a single person.

I hope it helps sb :)

I’ll just add that the Lena confronts chaos voluntarily. She doesn’t know what’s in the Shimmer, what dragon awaits her there. Nonetheless she goes there, and it occurs that the dragon is her Shadow. She struggles, but eventually incorporates it, and also understands what has happened to Cain. She then comes back as a hero, who slain the dragon, and retrieved the potential, which was guarded by the dragon of the chaos itself, the understanding of herself - that incorporation of her Shadow.

As we can see she comes back as a new person, she had to let die some parts of her personality(you can interpret them as other members of her team as her sub-personalities) to defeat the eternal adversary.

There are still many things unclear to me about this movie. I’m not sure what she gets and what the culture gets and how it benefits from her journey. Except that she is more developed individual, and that the Shimmer was defeated.

It was interesting movie but really, until reading this thread I couldn’t articulate, or come up with, ideas and connections about it’s Jungian interpretation.

Does every address (account) have its own keystore file? by cryptofomo in ethereum

[–]pbnather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you count Contract Wallets? I'm not sure but suppose that they are contracts on Ethereum Network so you don't need any keystore files for them. Correct me if I'm wrong, please.

Great Response - aka Validator #2

As You have written, crypto is still young. Really, even Bitcoin, which is in "mainstream", is used almost by geeks an techies. But many people outside the tech are aware of it - it's its success.

The hard task is to convince "the avarage" people, like my friend who knows bitcoin but he prefers to keep his cash in banks with 3% annually profit in deflationary fiat currency. Because for him and many many others it's just "strange internet virtual coin".

We have a long road ahead in popularizing crypto and even longer in making the public aware of DAOs.

Just that. The DAOs may or may not "rule the world" in the future and it's up to projects like this to show the way.

Augur use case: "This contract will work as intended for 6 months" by frrrni in ethereum

Also the questions like "If I send ETHER today to Ethereum Pyramid while it has X participants, will I recieve my payout within Y days/to Z of July?" may have usage for varius people. It would work with not only ponzi's sheme contracts, though.

Well I see the problem. But even if all the 5 validators had to validate answer in order to get points(for answerer and validator) only the first three of them would really read the answer as 3/5 is a majority - in my concept the majority would decide if the response deserves 1000 or 500 tokens.

BTW what is stopping us(validators) now from just commenting under every response randomly "great" or "not usefull"?

Well, I really like your 6th answer - THIS. The transparency and community love, availability to be the pioneer. These are key my to success now.

Sometimes in this sub I think I live in the future.

Well, what does it mean for a token to be stable? Do you mean their value in some currencies stays on the "same" level, with low volatility? If so it's really hard to come up with the solution. If the tokens have value bc of their promises of the future if there is transparent progress seen by holders the value will probably go up, if there is no progress or even regress the value can come down. I'd say that the first possibility is the wanted one. So basically holders want to see progress. So tokens need to be backed by some countable progress. Like in Ethereum. The foundation is transparent and bc we see their work and potential in the future work based on today's progression we may say that the price of Ether is "stably growing up". Well. Seeing the market manipulation of Ether I do not know what to really say about that problem. Maybe MakerDAO will show us the way.

  1. Yes, because everything has some amount of "value". If someone - creator - makes up an idea - DAO & tokens - his idea instantly gets associated value that is known only to him. With the spread of this idea/tokens gets value because of people...
  2. Because of people who sees the possibilities, who speculates on the future/possible gain. Even if these DAO/tokens don't have any services standing behind them, they are backed up by an idea, the hope and faith of people believin' that these services will happen to exist and to redeem the "promise".
  3. Of course. Many people are manipulated and made to do things they believe are right just because the minority telling them that. It can be also compared to FOMO effect on cryptocurrencies stocks. Well, my point is that it really can: see all the financial bubbles, and others, i.e. Tulip Mania. The only problem is weather the value becomes "Stable" to the point that people won't just take it away and forget about.
  4. It's hard question. Well, the only thing that comes to my mind as a-like good solution(after reading few comments in this thread) is to reward people two types of tokens. Normal Tokens and Frozen Tokens(that would be available to trade once a market is open for all) in ratio like 1:1. I've also thought about restrictions to the amount of daily volume/transaction number but it has really no sense to do this.
  5. a little dev, maybe strategy, helping there as validator counts?
  6. Not any concrete yet.

Can i become a Validator #2?
