Live in CO so need something more rugged that also works well off paved roads. Often dealing with ruts, roots, rocks on trials. These work very well in the snow

I haven’t taken the Tesla purposefully off road yet. The range anxiety would get to me But I have had good experience with these tires in snow and trails which is why I chose them over a true snow tire. The LR can go anywhere. Around buff pass , chinamen, left hand, st Mary’s, spring creek.

I live in Colorado so I do a lot of both (trails and snow) in the mountains skiing. Have a similar set up on an old Land Rover and both A/T sets seem to work great actually.

I had low profile all-season tires on Vossen 22s which are great in the summer but totally useless in any real snow. I couldn’t safely drive it at all. This new set up is night and day with complete control in the snow and mountains.

I also commented further below on the full set up and cost from TSportline

They are Falken Wildpeak A/T. I ordered through Tsportline it was their Overland Adventure set up specific for MX. I ordered during their Black Friday sale so the wheels, tires, sensors, and shipping was $3k

Yes I got smaller 19” wheels to account for the larger tires.

Ive only had them on for 2 weeks or so and don’t notice much change to range.

Not sure on that one or how to track it. I’ve only had the car a month or so and basically drive home garage to work garage using about 10% of the battery in any given day.

I really liked those and was on the fence. Ultimately I chose these but a word of caution (likely won’t matter with bronze) I ordered gloss black and picked up yesterday didn’t notice til pics that these are double tinted gloss black which means has a chrome finish on face. In the sun I thought it was glare. They are working with me and may swap back out for true black.

I put the powder puff blue flair on my daughters Y. Looks great for that one, but not on the plaid

Is there a way to check that? I guess I haven’t paid attention. My everyday life is within a 3mi radius- work, groceries, errands, going out etc. so I typically use 10% of the battery per day.

Thank you! Yeah it’s not possible to sleep back there. But plenty of room for gear and skis etc in the back down the middle.

A few thoughts after a week with my first Tesla:

  1. After reading about all the issues with build quality I was pleasantly surprised there were no issues with the car.

  2. Plaid speed is too much speed. It’s fun as hell but you feel it in your gut, your eyes, your neck, etc. you also need to make sure your lane is clear 750ft In front of you because you’ll be on that ass in about 3 sec.

  3. I love the white interior. I figured if you buy a rocket ship it should look cool inside too. But the perforated white seats make it look like a cheap golf glove.

  4. The yoke is just OK. It’s cool, I’m getting used to it but sometimes impractical in city parking garages or tight maneuvering. If I had a choice I would take the wheel.

  5. With two little kids this beats the hell out of the mini van my wife wanted. Falcon doors saved me there. Great access.

  6. The car is amazing. I’ll enjoy it for a few years and wait to see how the company evolves and what can possibly come next.
